The Sims 3 Showtime Guide Essentials New Venues & Real Estate

Real Estate Investments

While real estate investing isn’t new to Showtime , it’s a good way to supplement your performer Sim’s erratic income. Unlike Sims with normal jobs, Sims in performance careers largely rely on gigs to earn a paycheck.

As a result, income can be irregular, fluctuating based on the number of gigs your Sim has booked per week. Real estate investing is one way to stabilize income, giving your Sim a bit more financial stability.

Plus, as your Sims age, income generated from real estate investments is a great way to fund retirement. You didn’t intend to perform on stage forever, right?

Partnership vs. Ownership

Use a computer to browse available properties for sale. You can also click on individual properties in the Map View to purchase them or become a partner.

If you’re thinking about dabbling in Starlight Shores’ real estate market, strongly consider becoming a partner first. Partnerships are the best opportunity for novice real estate investors with limited capital.

For example, it costs §24,000 to purchase Flying V’s Coffeehouse, but only §6,000 to become a partner. As you can see, partnerships make real estate investing much more accessible.

Once you become a partner, the property then generates a weekly income, available every Monday at 9 AM. Simply interact with the property to pick up your Simoleons—you don’t have to do anything else!

The amount of income generated varies from property to property. But as a rule, the more money you invest in a property, the more money you get back. Within a few weeks time you can easily recover the initial investment and begin banking a steady profit.

As a partner, you’re even given the opportunity to Buy Out the other partners and become the sole owner. Owners pull in much more weekly income from a property than partners, but they must also fork over lots of Simoleons, often requiring a longer time to turn a profit.
