The Sims 3 Showtime Guide › Essentials › Tour of Starlight Shores

Places of Employment

Not all of the Sims of Starlight Shores have the talent (or desire) necessary to tackle the challenges of the new performance careers. And that’s a good thing. Without a diverse work force, the town simply wouldn’t function.

It takes a variety of skills and specialties to support such an idealistic environment where the performing arts can thrive.

Sims can find a wide range of traditional careers by visiting the following establishments or by browsing for jobs in a newspaper or on a computer.

Many Sims appreciate the set work hours and steady pay offered by these traditional careers. Working day jobs has the added benefit of leaving the evenings free to take in live shows at Starlight Shores’ many venues.

Struggling newcomers to the performance careers should consider rooming with a Sim pursuing a traditional career.

It makes it much easier to pay the bills (and buy cool props) when someone in the household brings in a regular paycheck—you can always pay them back later when you make it big!

The Binder Clips Center is a multi-function facility hosting a variety of events. In addition to being one of only two Big Show venues, the stadium is also the go-to place for Sims pursuing the Professional Sports career.

As the home to Starlight Shores’ professional sports team, the facility is equipped with the most advanced exercise equipment for helping keep athletes in top shape.

Sims can also benefit from the facility’s advanced equipment and personnel by taking an Athletic class here to boost their Athletic skill. When they’re not working, both Acrobats and athletes should consider taking one of these classes for a fast-track to fitness.

If you’re more interested in boosting your Sim’s overall mood, consider attending a game or concert here. Concerts are always free and a great way to end the day for music-loving Sims.

If the Attend Concert and Attend Game options are grayed out, these events aren’t currently available. Mouse over these options to see when an upcoming concert or game is scheduled.

While the talented, performance-minded Sims of Starlight Shores may scoff at a stuffy desk job, the Business and Journalism careers definitely have their appeal to some.

But even creative Sims (and prospective authors) can find a use for the Writing class offered here, helping turn their illegible outlines into well-crafted, flowing prose through the improvement of their Writing skill.

Sims with a passion for gastronomy can join the Culinary career in the business park’s adjoining restaurant. The restaurant is also open to customers looking for a high-quality food and drinks, ideal for impressing a date.

Those wishing to improve their own Cooking skill can also attend a Cooking class here, helping reduce the risks of kitchen fires and poorly prepared meals.

Tip

Sims eating at the Broad Street Business Tower & Grill automatically change into their formal wear. After dinner, consider playing a game of dominoes on the outdoor patio to improve your Logic skill.
