The Sims 3 Showtime Guide Essentials Tour of Starlight Shores

Parks & Fishing Spots

Starlight Shores isn’t all about live shows and late night parties on Los Sueños Strip. Sims looking to get away from glitz and noise downtown have several relaxing parks to choose from.

Each park has its own vibe, offering a variety of unique activities. Most of the parks also contain lakes or ponds, a popular attraction for anglers of all skill levels.

Buckshot Lake

Buckshot Lake is Starlight Shores’ premiere fishing hole, drawing novice and expert anglers alike eager to reel in their next big catch. But even Sims who don’t have a knack for fishing will find plenty to enjoy at this lush lakeside park.

The serene setting is the perfect environment for painters and musicians to draw inspiration from. Consider coming here to build your Painting or Guitar skills—an easel and guitar are already provided.

Those looking to exercise their brains can take in a game of chess or dominoes, helping advance their Logic skill. Buckshot Lake is also the perfect spot for social events.

Come here for a picnic, taking time out from a relaxing meal to sing a round of karaoke. The park also offers a couple of fire pits, useful for keeping warm at night while enjoying fireside chats with friends.

Delmar Beach

Delmar Beach is one of Starlight Shore’s most treasured parks, offering a variety of indoor and outdoor activities for Sims seeking a relaxing coastal getaway.

Athletes and Acrobats often frequent the beach to perform their workout routines outside within view of the pristine shoreline. The beach also is home to a cozy beachside lounge that can be reserved for private parties or simply visited by all Sims.

Visitors to the lounge can play a game of pool, dance next to a jukebox, or indulge themselves and others by serving a pricey banquet. The beach itself is also a fun place to hang out.

Anglers can cast a line into the ocean and pull out a variety of fish. Or come here at night with a loved one and light the fire pit for a romantic outing beneath the stars as the waves gently crash against the sand.

La Laguna Park

La Laguna Park is an untouched piece of land far from the hustle and bustle of downtown Starlight Shores. While parks like Buckshot Lake and Delmar Beach are multi-use facilities, drawing a wide spectrum of visitors, La Laguna park is largely frequented by fishermen.

The large pond here is home to a variety of fish, making this a popular fishing spot for serious anglers who don’t want to be disturbed by large crowds. It’s also possible to find a variety of harvestable plants and trees on the pond’s periphery, including apple and banana trees.

So if you’re looking to get away from it all, including other Sims, La Laguna Park is the perfect place to indulge in nature’s bounty.

Starlight Plaza

Starlight Plaza is a small park nestled between the Urbane Center for the Arts and Los Sueños Private Club.

Given the high traffic surroundings, this plaza is a popular place for street performers looking to earn the respect (and pocket change) of their peers. If you’re just starting out in a performance career, consider coming here to practice your trade.

Prospective DJs can also hone their skills here among a mostly accepting crowd unafraid to show off their dance moves in public. Aside from the plaza’s benches and chairs, there are no interactive objects.

Still, this can be a relaxing place to take the weight off your feet. Or if it’s simply too far to reach your home, curl up on one of the benches for a quick nap to recharge.

Late night revelers are often surprised to wake up on one of these benches following a wild night of partying at the nearby Los Sueños Private Club.

Tot Spot Playground

Let’s face it. Kids are restless balls of energy. Tot Spot Playground is the perfect (and safe) location to release that energy in positive and playful manner.

Children love coming here to swing, slide, and climb on the playground equipment. Social and introspective teens also find plenty to enjoy here, albeit at a lesser degree than their younger siblings.

While teens may have outgrown some of the equipment, it doesn’t stop them from hanging out here, perhaps in a subconscious existential exercise to grasp onto their fading youth.

But this small park isn’t just for the young ones. Adults can also have a surprising amount of fun by swinging on the swing set. You’re only as old as you feel, so don’t be afraid to cut loose and play like children.

Verde Park

Verde Park is the centerpiece of Starlight Shores, drawing regular visitors from the surrounding neighborhoods and downtown area.

This massive park is within walking (or jogging) distance of most Sims’ homes, making it a frequent community gathering spot for SimFests and other performances hosted on the park’s large outdoor stage.

Sim’s in performance careers start out here, playing their first gigs on the park’s stage at Level 2. But there’s much more to do here than take in live shows.

There are two driving range platforms where you can work on perfecting your golf swing, leading to a small increase in Athletic skill. You can also build your Logic skill by playing a game of chess or dominoes.

Or if you’re looking to catch tonight’s dinner, cast into the park’s small pond and see what you can fish out. There truly is something for everyone at Verde Park.
