International Projects

International Games

International GamesThe International Games can be proposed on the floor of the World Congress. If it passes, this becomes a Wonder that every nation is allowed to work on. Nations that contribute a moderate amount of Production toward the effort are likely to get at least one or two rewards off of the games' completion. Whoever put in the most Production gets all of the rewards, so it's useful to have one of your better Production cities work on the games if you really want their best reward. Here is the table with the levels of rewards.

Cultural players will frequently vie for the top spot, though an industrial power that is worried about someone else's Cultural Victory might try to steal the show simply to prevent their rival from getting 20 turns of bonus Tourism. You really don't want to see Brazil pop a Great Artist to start a Golden Age in the middle of the International Games. Or maybe you do, if you're playing Brazil.

Hosted Games Tourism increases by 100% for 20 Turns. You also receive a free Social Policy!
Won Medals +3 Happiness. You also receive a one-time increase of 30 Influence with all City-States.
Parade of Nations +3 Happiness.

International Space Station

International Space StationThe ISS is a scientific victory for all of humanity, and now your nation can get in on that action from day one! Pass this in the World Congress and then put your best city to work. If you beat everyone else, you can get the International Space Station Wonder in your Capital city!

World's FairNations that want to win a Science Victory get a major push from this, though anyone with Freedom as their Ideology gets quite a boost as well (they tend to have many more Scientists and Engineers in their cities, so the bonus is bigger for them).

Mission Control The ISS Wonder appears in your Capital.
Crew On Board Free Great Scientist.
Constructed Parts One-time research boost for your nation.
Comment +1 Production from Scientists, +1 Science from Engineers. Great Scientists provide 33% more Science when used to discover a new Technology.

World's Fair

World's FairThe World's Fair is one of the easier International Projects to complete. It doesn't take as much work to finish, so make sure not to leave your best city on it for too long. Do your best to keep track of your investment in the project, and stop when you think you've give yourself enough for at least a Groundbreaking Invention. If you don't watch out, it's possible to waste tons of Production getting the top slot, and that might not be in your nation's best interests.

Everyone should push to get bronze and silver rewards for this project; they're useful for any type of nation. Only civilizations that already have a massive Culture output should strive for the gold here. Non-Cultural nations won't see any huge leap in their Policies.

Hosted Fair Doubles your Culture for 20 Turns.
Groundbreaking Invention Free Social Policy.
Exhibitor 500 points toward your next Golden Age.

Note that the World's Fair won't influence Tourism heavily if it's passed earlier on. Culture doesn't innately lead to Tourism; it needs help from specific buildings (like Hotels). If someone tries to pass the World's Fair a bit later on, be very careful! Instead of going for an increase to their Culture, they might be pushing for a major boost to their Tourism, and that can be a real threat to you. Try and tank the resolution before it passes to save yourself from this Cultural attack, or avoid working on the World's Fair so it doesn't conclude anytime soon.
