Mission 3: Making the Fortress Fall

The West Side

Initial Force: 2 x Machine Gunners, 2 x SMG Soldiers, 4 x Riflemen

Objectives:

• Accompany the tanks to the bridge, destroying any AT guns you encounter on your way (at least one tank should survive to reach the bridge)
• Don’t lose any tanks on the way to the bridge

Summary

Right at the start, pick up a panzerfaust rocket launcher and rockets from a dead enemy near where the squad begins. Then, fight your way along the left map edge until your squad is to the left of the tall building.

Blast holes in it so you can kill the enemies inside, then sneak soldiers behind the building to kill the crews of the anti-tank guns. Kill a rocket launcher soldier in a building across the street, and then bring the tanks up towards the first intersection.

Capture an anti-tank gun and use it to clear out enemies along the western road. Neutralize the mortars and anti-tank guns in the center of town, as well as any rocket launcher soldiers along the roads, and then bring the tanks forward again.

Finally, kill the crews of the last two anti-tank guns, as well as any remaining rocket launcher soldiers, and advance the tanks to the bridge.

The East Side

Initial Force: 3 x Machine Gunners, 3 x SMG Soldiers, 3 x Riflemen, 1 x PzKpfw IV Ausf. H Medium Tank

Objectives:

• Help the troops approach the second bridge

Summary

To help you clear out the eastern side of the town, you have a captured German tank. However, you will need to use your infantry as well since unsupported tanks are vulnerable in an urban environment. Begin by clearing out the anti-tank guns and mortars to the north of the town.

Advance along the west side of the map. Use a captured mortar to help clear out enemy positions, and be sure to pick up a rocket launcher from a dead enemy to use for clearing buildings of hostiles waiting to ambush your tank.

Once at the southern end of the map, neutralize the enemies in the buildings so your allies can advance forward. Use your infantry to take out enemy rocket launcher soldiers, and then move your tank in to mop up the rest.

The Fortress

Initial Force: 2 x Machine Gunners, 3 x SMG Soldiers, 2 x Riflemen, 1 x AT Soldier

Objectives:

• Infiltrate the fortress
• Secure a passage for vehicles via the eastern bridge
• Destroy the AA guns
• Secure a passage via the western bridge

Summary

The fortress is heavily defended. The only way the Soviets can take this German position is if your squad infiltrates the fortification and clears the way starting from the eastern bridge.

Get into the fortress and destroy the two anti-tank guns and the tank guarding the eastern bridge.

Now, work your way across the northern part of the map, destroying tanks and enemy positions as you go. Destroy the two enemy AA guns so that air strikes can clear out most of the German defenses.

Finish off any remaining tanks and anti-tank guns near the western bridge to complete the mission.
