Men of War: Condemned Heroes Guide Walkthrough Campaign 4: Paying with Blood

Mission 2: Commanding Hill

Take the Hill

Initial Force: 3 x Machine Gunners, 5 x SMG Soldier, 5 x Riflemen, 2 x AT Soldiers, 2 x Mortars, Artillery Strikes

Objectives:

  • Capture the hill

Summary

The hill is well defended by the Germans. Trenches ring it, and there are only three locations from which you can access the hill. The best place to start is to right of your initial deployment.

Use artillery strikes to take out the vehicles and anti-tank guns which can make your assault difficult, and bombard the trench machine gun positions with your mortars.

Then, use your squads to infiltrate the hill, and use grenades and weapon fire to clear out the trenches.

Once you have access to the hill, work your way around it. Neutralize out the anti-tank guns, trenches, tanks, and vehicles until you are king of the hill.

Defend the Hill

Reinforcements: Artillery Strikes, Air Strikes

Objectives:

  • Stop the German counter-attack
  • Prevent German troops from breaking through the encirclement
  • Hold your ground until reinforcements arrive
  • Retreat

Summary

Once you have captured the hill, you must defend it. Take control of captured anti-tank guns, mortars, and machine guns. Position them to prepare for the tank.

You also receive help in the form of allied tanks and infantry. Put all your troops on the highest level of the hill and use the anti-tank guns to defeat the vehicles first. Then, take care of the German infantry.

After stopping the initial counter-attack, you must continue to hold the hill until reinforcements arrive.

While the first attack was primarily from one direction, the second comes at you from several directions—and it includes a lot of tanks.

Re-deploy some of your anti-tank guns to protect different entrances to the hill. Make sure all anti-tank guns can survive tank fire by pulling them back from the edges of the hill.

Finally, when reinforcements fail to arrive, you need to retreat. Leave behind all crew weapons and make your way down the hill on foot.

You may need to blow up a vehicle and kill some infantry as you head to the safety of the woods.
