Intro

The motorized menaces known as the Hoard are terrorizing everyone in Craftverse, grabbing everything in sight. Left unchecked, these miniature thieves could remove all that makes the Craftverse a fun and imaginative place. Who can save this land of creativity Why our sackperson, of course! After undertaking a little grand theft kart-o, our sackperson has obtained a kart fast enough to keep up with the speedy Hoard kart gang. Time to liberate the land of these mischievous motorists.

The first stop in this rowdy road trip finds our little hero back to the place where it all began, LittleBigPlanet. The Hoard’s relentless pillaging has the kingdom’s royal family at their wit’s end. Although Her Majesty remembers the previous exploits of our intrepid hero, the eccentric Queen needs assurance that our sackperson is up to the task. As you drive through LittleBigPlanet, you are sure to bump into some familiar faces that need help surviving the Hoard’s rampage.

Garden Grip

Eye on the Prize

The beautiful Gardens of LittleBigPlanet are slowly being picked apart. Rebelling against conventional hijinks, the Hoard has been stealing the Garden’s livestock and frightening the kingdom’s royal treasure. Amazed to see karts zipping around her kingdom, the Queen asks our hero to prove it’s got the stuffing to drive away the Hoard.

There are 18 prize bubbles spread out all over the Gardens. Several sections have two prize bubbles on opposite sides of the track, forcing you to choose only one bubble per lap. Plan out which side to pop first—making a mental note to drive along the opposite side next time—and you can grab all the Prize Bubbles within the first two laps. With the goodies secured, your sackperson can spend the final lap focused solely on winning the race.

1—Ahead of the Curve

Just beyond the starting line, the first two turns ease you into the race. Each curve is both wide and long enough to test out your drifting abilities. Hold your drift as long as you can to gain a powerful boost to launch ahead of the pack. Both curves have strings of score and prize bubbles on both the left and right sides of the road.

As you navigate through the short straightaway between the curves, your kart comes across the first line of weaponators. Don’t miss your first chance to arm your kart with some firepower. There’s no need to be shy about firing it right away, since the next set of weaponators show up pretty soon.

2—Pinpoint racing

Moving out of the first set of turns puts you on a slightly curved stretch of track. A jet pack sits in the middle of the small curve ahead. Run into the jet pack to get a quick boost, surging your kart forward. But don’t let the speed go to your head! Keep your button eyes open for the prize bubble on the left side of the road. The small curve soon leads into two consecutive hairpin turns. Be on the lookout for the second set of weaponators along the first hairpin. There are five prize bubbles inside the twin hairpins. Two pairs (one on each side of the road) are laid out in the middle of each hairpin, and in between the two turns another prize bubble sits in the middle of the road.

Each hairpin turn features a bowl-shaped incline along its edge. While drifting through each sharp corner, try to keep your kart on the bottom edge of the incline where it meets the road. This is the ideal driving line to hold your drift and perform a drift boost as you exit the curve. The boost helps increase momentum as you make your way through the next part of the track.

3—Line Drive

Coming out of the hairpins, your kart faces a number of slight curves. As you enter these curves, don’t overthink things by trying to follow their twists and turns too closely. Look for the ideal racing line that cuts straight through the center of the curves to get through faster. The last weaponator line is placed in the middle stretch of these curves. Don’t be fooled by the two lines of score bubbles on the right and left sides of the road. They don’t lead to a prize bubble. Instead, stay in the center of the road to pick up the lone prize bubble there.

4—The Home Stretch

Look for two more prize bubble pairs (again on the opposite sides of the track) coming into the final bend. The first prize bubble set is placed at the beginning of the turn, and the second set is just before the exit. Hold a drift to get a major boost as you enter the straightaway.

Located in the final straightaway is the last pair of prize bubbes. Try to string together the two consecutive score bubble lines on the left side of the track to net a 4x multiplier as you complete a lap.

After the Wedding

LitteBigPlanet’s creepy couple, Frida and Don Lu, is back from their honeymoon, returning to the wedding reception to gather their things. The Queen and our sack person find the bride once again crying up a storm. This time, The Hoard is the cause for the newly wed skeleton’s tears. The deviants are emptying out the couple’s stash of wedding gifts. The Queen doesn’t think there is much hope in regaining what has already been taken, but your kart-riding hero can remove the Hoard from the area. Hopefully, that can calm Frida down before she goes on another rampage with her skulldozer.

Getting Hitched

The dark, intimate wedding hall is a wide-open course that ties a knot around a mix of bright flowers and skulls. The corners in the dimly lit stage won’t give your sackperson too much trouble, but be prepared for the gravity-defying jump in the middle of the track. The colorful, yet strangely gothic level also has 15 prize bubbles floating around the hall, and it can take a couple of passes to nab them all. Make a commitment and collect them all in a single race.

1—Wedding Introductions

Coming off the starting gate, the course begins by traveling uphill towards the first long curve, a balloon shaped left turn that spirals up and onto the second level of the hall. The path leading up to that turn is decorated with many pickups, all of them lined up on both sides of the track, and includes several score bubble strings, a row of weaponators, and two pairs of prize bubbles. To gather all these prizes, choose either the left or right side in an early lap, and then alternate to the other side in later laps to pick up the rest.

Entering the purple-colored uphill curve, steer the kart into the short score bubble line on the right side of the track. A jet pack and a prize bubble are positioned at the end of it. As the jet pack propels your sack person through the middle of the curve, quickly veer left into the inside of the turn, hugging the rail. Grab another weapon from the weaponator row and follow another score bubble set to find a prize bubble at its end.

Coming out of the spiral turn, your sack person enters a short straight away featuring a few upward and downward slopes. At the bottom of the first slope, look for a prize bubble on the right. As the kart climbs the final hill, stay in the center of the track, and jump when you reach the top to collect the prize bubble floating above the course.

2—The First Dance

Leaving the slopes, the purple track changes to a red/yellow road dotted with skeletons. Heading south, navigate through a slight “S” curve, which leads into a harrowing right hairpin. Find a straight line through the “S,” but stay left onto the racing strip on the left side to run into a prize bubble on the second curve.

The hairpin starts smooth, but whips into a sharp right, violently changing your direction from south to north. It’s going to take some quick wheel jockeying to nab the two prize bubbles along this turn. Steer through this turn wide and to the left to pop the first prize bubble sitting near the middle of the turn. Once you have the first bubble, swing back onto the right side as you exit the hairpin to nab the second prize bubble on the racing strip.

3—Toss the Bouquet

The hairpin is behind you, but the course doesn’t settle down just yet. Pick up as many score bubbles along the brief straightaway and prepare for some major air as the track runs into a large bounce pad ahead. Don’t panic, the bounce pad launches your kart quickly and safely across the area below.

4—Dance the Night Away

Upon landing the long jump, a line of weaponators greets you and leading into the final bends of the course, two downhill turns that form an appropriately heart-shaped section of the track. The first corner is a sweeping left curve riddled with score bubbles. Stay left on this turn to grab the prize bubble on the left side. The second and final bend on the track is a little sharp left that circles back to the starting line. As you approach the final bend, steer towards the score bubbles on the right side of the turn to snatch the final prize bubble at the end.

Serpent’s Shrine

The wedding hall is free of The Hoard, but Don Lu worries about his uncle Jalapeño out in The Canyons. Upon arriving to his uncle’s stomping grounds, they find the area overrun with the Hoard. The grave robbers have taken residence at the Serpent’s Shrine, a large temple hidden deep within The Canyons. The Queen doesn’t hesitate to continue her test of self worth by throwing your sack person into the trap-laden temple. Purge the ancient structure of the defilers before the temple is completely ransacked.

Roads Less Traveled

A quick glance at the track map fails to express the complexity found inside the temple halls. There are multiple branching paths littered throughout the course. To make matters more difficult, all 17 prize bubbles are placed in every nook and cranny of the racecourse, forcing your sack person to explore every section of the temple to collect all the treasures inside. Plan ahead, and decide which prizes to nab on each lap, and shorten the expedition.

1—Decisions and Directions

At the start of this speedy expedition, your sack person is plopped right in front of the temple entrance. Drive into the temple, toward a standard 90-degree left turn that guides your sack person to the first treasure: two strings of score bubbles and a row of Weaponators. Take the opportunity to build up your score and arm your kart for the chaos ahead.

The first fork in the road comes at the beginning of the rectangle-shaped corners ahead. For the first lap, take the wide turn on the left side to gather the two prize bubbles along this route. Both prize bubbles are located in the middle of the turn. As you pop the first prize bubble on the left side of the track, swiftly steer the kart back towards the right wall, into a score bubble string, and finally through the second prize bubble.

2—Explore or Explode?

The temple expedition continues passing through a series of light zigzagging bends. The first bend splits into two separate directions. Follow some score bubbles into the left path to cut a straight line through the bend. The path on the right side drives into the bend, but your sack person can load up on a weaponator. There is a single prize bubble inside each path, so take the opposite path during your second or final lap to obtain both.

Beyond the bend, lies a sweeping right turn that sends your kart flying off a ledge, down into a large chamber, and out of the temple. At the beginning of the curve, peer ahead to the pair of jet packs on the left and right side of the track. Pickup a pack to accelerate down the curve, but keep your kart in the center of the track to run into another jet pack near the end of the turn. Use the momentum from the boost to propel your kart down to the temple exit below.

3—Boom Town

Upon landing, the track exits the temple and goes out into Boom Town, a small community inside the Canyons. The road begins to widen as your sack person passes through the town. A number of helpful pickups are spread throughout the town; including some score bubbles on the right side of the track, and a row of Weaponators on the left side. Pick up a Weaponator, and follow the street as it curves right through the town. Veer off the road behind the single hacienda on the right to pick up the prize bubble in the backyard.

4—The Canyons

Leaving the town, the course enters a rocky canyon pass that heads north, through several moderate corners, and back up to the temple entrance. Ease into the first corner, a 90-degree right turn. Follow the score bubble trail on the left side to set up an inside line into the next corner, a strong sharp right. Stay on the inside of this corner to obtain the prize bubble in the middle of the curve.

The strong right turn is quickly replaced by an equally sharp left turn. Guide the kart through the outside line to snatch a string of score bubbles on the right. The turn leads into a large ramp with bounce pads at the end of it. The pads catapult your sack person high across and over the temple entrance and back outside to the canyon pass. There are two prize bubbles on the left and right side of the jump.

Back outside in the Canyons, the final two corners wrap around the temple, and swing back to the starting line. Navigate through both turns snatching up score bubbles along the way. Entering the final bend, stay on the inside of the turn to nab the final prize bubble on the left side.

Mine the Gap

Surprised to find our stuffing-filled treasure hunter in one piece, the Queen’s gauntlet test of certain death moves on, inside the Canyon’s dangerous, and unstable Mines. The Hoard has aggressively taken over the mining facility. Blow away all the motorized miscreants before all the shiny rocks are gone!

Rock Solid Plans

Everything introduced in the previous levels has been a warm up to the crazy track inside the Mine. The butterfly-shaped course is a giant figure eight, which includes four major turns at the end of a series of straights and slight curves. Each “wing” of the course features plenty of shortcuts and hazards to slow down your kart. Get those airsickness bags ready for the two big jumps that occur in the center of the track. 16 prize bubbles are scattered throughout the course, and with careful planning, all these goodies can fill your Popit.

1—Miner Offense

The starting line places your sack person at the beginning of a long downhill straight that leads into the first major jump through the center of the mine. Before driving down the steep incline, hop the kart to leap down the straight away and into the first prize bubble floating above the track.

As your kart gathers speed into the bounce pad over yonder, pop the score bubble column in the center of the track for some extra points. The pad launches your sack person clear across a giant chasm into the east “wing” of the course. As your sack person gets a good view of the mine’s operations, navigate the kart into one of the two prize bubbles floating along the jump path—either the lonely prize bubble on the left, or through the arch of score bubbles following the prize bubble on the right. Squeeze in a 360 spin while airborne for a valuable early boost.

After a thrilling flight the kart meets a row of weaponators upon landing. Equip your sack person with a weaponator and prepare for a hard U-turn to the left. Don’t go for the score bubbles on the left side of the curve. Instead, take the turn wide to pick up the prize bubble on the right edge of the track.

2—The Daily Grind

Now heading north toward a tight hairpin, the road carves a path down past the stone grinders in the mine. Hop at the top of the initial down grade to pop the prize bubble floating near the large red grinder ahead. Weave your way through the grinder’s easy curves gathering all the bubbles along the way. Look out for the prize bubble on the right side of the first curve.

There’s a short straightaway before the sharpest turn in the track, a tight, left hairpin turn. Before the turn comes, pick up a weaponator, and follow the score bubbles to a jet pack. Steer to the right to grab the prize bubble as your kart enters the hairpin.

3—Jumping through Hoops

With that nasty hairpin behind your sack person, the course swings back south through the center of the mine and into the south-wing section of the track. Gather some score bubbles, and arm your kart with a weaponator before it eases into the simple right curve ahead. As your sack person drives into the turn, tackle the inside line of the curve to collect the prize bubble on the right side.

Moving forward, the road briefly ends at a large conveyor belt. The belt acts as another launch pad, once again vaulting your kart up and over the center of the mine. Your sack person lands on the south wing section, a wide, downhill circle. While driving down the circle, nab one of the two prize bubbles on the right and left side of the track.

4—What’s Mine is Mine

After your kart exits the circle turn, it enters the final stretch of this race, moving west into the final corner, and settling back to the starting line. Accelerate into the sweeping left turn redirecting your kart west. Next, weave through a few light curves. Follow the score bubbles to lead your sack person into the prize bubble placed along these curves.

All that remains of the course are two moderate right turns. Be sure to pick up the last prize bubble that sits on the left side of the track, in between the twin corners. Collect some score bubbles as you enter the final bend and return to the starting line.

King of the Castle

The Hoard has reached the castle gates, but they haven’t broken through yet. The Queen’s final test tasks you with defending the castle gates from the kleptomaniac Hoard. While the royal family observes from a safe distance, shoot down as many of the crazed karters as possible to slow down their progress. Complete this event to rid the first world of the Hoard once and for all.

King of the Castle

The King’s Castle is a small, square arena with two major sections: the center square and the surrounding roads outside. Learning the advantages of each section is key to dominating this battle. Since you have only three minutes to blow up as many Hoard drivers as possible, popping all the prize bubbles in the level should take a backseat to attacking the Hoard. Since there are only twelve prize bubbles, it’s possible to do both, as long as you take down your enemies while traveling to each Prize Bubble. Focus on eliminating as many rival drivers as possible and place in the top three to win the battle.

1—Center of Chaos

Most of the weaponators are located inside the center structure, lined up in a cross shape in the middle of the arena. In the same area, you can also find four Prize Bubbles placed in front of each pillar of the center structure, one for each corner.

The square has few obstructions, so it’s easy to fire weapons into the area and get a lucky shot. Because of this, it’s best to avoid the square at the start of the match. The Hoard floods the center of the level to quickly pick up weapons and attack, leading to a chaotic scene.

2—Outer Area

The four interconnected sides surrounding the square are long and wide, leading to some crazy cat-and-mouse action. Your sack person can simply circle around this area, picking off any poor kart that finds itself in your line of sight. Drive around the building and pick up a weaponator from the area surrounding the structure in anticipation of a target. Then, depending on the weaponator equipped, track down a rival racer and show it your shiny new toy.

There are weaponators and eight prize bubbles scattered all over the exterior area. There is a prize bubble near the edge in the center of each straight path and another in each of the arena’s four corners.

Training Wheels

The Drift Boost Factory

By now you are probably getting the hang of the drift boost technique. But take those skills for granted and they may begin to “drift” away. Fire up this level to remind you the joys of drift boosting, and sharpen up those skills to a fine razor edge.

Drive through the small racecourse as quickly as you can, passing through the large rainbow checkpoints along the way. Every checkpoint increases your score and adds a few seconds back to the clock. As the timer ticks down, your goal is to rack up as many points as possible. The prizes earned after successfully completing the race depend on your final score.

Shooting Hoard in a Barrel

Every sack assassin needs a few practice shots before becoming a master. A well-placed Weaponator can be the difference maker in a race or battle. Select this challenge to take some free pot shots at the Hoard. Come on, I know you want to…

Your sack person has 30 seconds to drive through this hourglass shaped course, and shoot down as many opponents as possible. Each successful hit extends the countdown for about 5 seconds. Take down 30 enemies to get all the prizes in the level.

Self Defense

Join the Block Party

Weaponators are great when coming from behind, but what if your sack person is in the lead? A true kart master can intercept incoming missile fire with ease. Use this exercise to practice blocking and prove a good defense wins tight races.

Drive solo through this simple course and block the constant missile barrage. Your sack person has 30 seconds to block as many missiles as possible. Each successful block extends time for about 5 seconds. Block 30 or more attacks to get a prize pack.

Savannah Rally

Don’t Get Lost in the Jungle

Alone and with no map, this safari is not a pleasure tour. It’s just your sack person, the Savannah, and a friendly guide to point you in the general direction. Around every turn, there are dangerous animals ready to pounce on your unsuspecting sack person. It’s a race against both time and nature!

The Savannah is a long rally course with a few alternate paths near its end. Pay attention to the warnings at the bottom of the screen to anticipate each corner. There are plenty of jet packs to speed your sack person through the course, as well as 11 prize bubbles to collect. Avoid the creatures that pop out onto the course and conquer the savannah in two fevered laps. Crack the Creator Curator’s best overall time to unlock a special prize pack.

1—Monkeying Around

The first set of curves in this arid desert course move around a native monkey tribe. Among these peaceful monkeys are the two prize bubbles. The first is inside the initial sweeping left corner, sitting in the rough dirt on the far left side of the turn. The second appears after you spot the last monkey, but before the rocky part of the course. Look for the prize bubble on the right side of the windy road.

Can you Spot the Mole?

Along the second area of the rally, the track is guided through a rocky mountainous area. Large moles peak out onto the road and block your sack person’s path. Avoid them and continue onward through the rally.

2—Water (and Gators) Under the Bridge

Once your sack person passes onto the first wooden plank, the race is halfway over. But your sack person can’t relax yet. At the end of each of these planks is a pair of jet packs followed by a steep ramp. Boost into the ramp and sail over the hungry alligators that leap up to devour our poor sack person.

Upon surviving the gator jump, the track’s path twists in and around the savannah’s lake. Look ahead at the fork in the road sign. Go right to stay on the main road and cross the bridge that goes over the lake. There are two prize bubbles on the main road. The first bubble sits on the right side of the track before crossing the bridge and the second comes after the bridge to the left of the second tree.

If your sack person steers left from the fork, your kart goes off the road, through some rough terrain. Run into the jet pack along this rough patch to propel your kart into the shallow water, and under the bridge. There are two prize bubbles along this path. The first comes right after the jet pack and the next is on the water after you pass under the bridge.

One more prize bubble floats high above the edge of the lake, at the end of a long and broken bridge. There are more alligators in between each gap. Drive into the jet pack aided ramps and fly over the green carnivores. Jump as your kart enters the final ramp to pick up more altitude and the prize bubble above.

3—I Only Stop at Duckling Crossings

The final stretch in the rally travels through yet another rocky mountain pass. There is not a mole to be found, but herds of large bison cross over the road. As your sack person trudges through the mountain pass, dodge the great bison migration, and look out for the final two prize bubbles. The first bubble hides right in front of the large rock formation after the earliest bison crossing. Further down the pass is the second, to the left of another rock formation after passing the final bison crossing.

Rolling in the Mud

Many have enjoyed playing with toy cars in their youth, pushing miniature trucks and autos through the mud. And with Craftworld’s very own RC race, sacks of all ages can now enjoy the simple pleasures of youth.

You and up to three friends can take control of a remote controlled kart and navigate this short overhead course. Move through the course in four quick laps and aim for first place.
