Defense

Of course, there’s nothing to stop the Hoard from turning these tools on you! Fortunately, most Weaponators do double duty to protect as easily as they destroy.

Luckily, your kart is equipped with an early-warning system. Keep your eyes peeled for the red warning icon along the bottom of the screen that indicates imminent impact with an inbound Weaponator trained on your kart. The icon displayed indicates which Weaponator is on your tail.

Stay sharp and pay attention as the warning icon changes into a blue shield. If you have a defensive Weaponator equipped, press to block the attack. You can also defend with offensive Weaponators. Press on the left stick to aim your Weaponator backwards, and then fire. In a flash, your Hoard opponent’s inbound insult is gone in a puff of smoke and debris.

However, it’s important to keep in mind that the blue shield icon only appears when you have a suitable Weaponator for the job. Otherwise, the warning only serves to inform you of your impending doooooom!
