Little Big Planet: Karting Guide › Essentials › The Basics

Basic Racing Controls

Once your sack person is settled in behind the wheel of a kart, it’s time for a littlebig crash course on the controls. To burn some rubber, press to hit the gas and accelerate, and to slam the brakes. Use and to slap opponents to the left or right of your kart. While airborne, and spin your kart to the left and right, respectively. With a Weaponator equipped, press to fire the weapon at your opponents. When presented with the opportunity to swing like an ape, press to grapple.

Because of the handcrafted nature of the Craftverse, sometimes your kart may get unexpectedly stuck or snagged and wind up unable to move. Not to worry! Simply press to burst your sack person and kart, which then resets them back on the track.

Tip

Alternate Driving Controls

Some players may prefer a different control style to tear up the track on their kart. You are free to change your controls at any time from the Settings menu. If that’s your cup of tea, remember that is gas, is brake, is hop/drift, and both spins and slaps are accomplished by moving the right stick either left or right. The Weaponator is still simply and grappling is done with .

Tip

PlayStation®Move Wheel Controls

If you happen to possess the PlayStation®Move Wheel and wish to use it for racing, there’s a very gentle learning curve. Everything is identical to the alternate controls with two key exceptions: you simply tilt the wheel left or right to steer and use Paddle Left and Paddle Right to slap or spin to the left and right, respectively.
