Right away, you can locate the first Puzzle Piece by climbing up the wall to the left of your starting position. Pound the gourd at the end of your climb to release the piece.
Large chasms in this level are preceded by red switches. Press the switches to cause platforms to appear for a limited time. Be careful as you cross them; in addition to your time limit, you also have to be aware of the Tiki Bombers patrolling the area.
Just before the first checkpoint, you’ll have to hit another switch to activate more platforms. The second of these platforms is directly above a hidden Barrel Cannon that launches you into a bonus room. Puzzle Piece two can be acquired here!
Shortly after the checkpoint, you’ll encounter a section that requires you to quickly advance up a vertical corridor lined with lethal spikes. Watch out for the patrolling Tikis, but don’t move so fast that you don’t pound the ground near the first vase you encounter during your climb. Puzzle Piece number three is now yours!
The second checkpoint is just before a long scrolling section that is started by pounding a large DK button. This triggers a large spike wall to appear behind you and start giving chase. If it catches you, it’s back to the checkpoint!
In your haste to evade the oncoming spike wall, it can be easy to miss this poundable vase that contains the fourth Puzzle Piece. Now get moving! You’ll eventually reach another Barrel Cannon that will take you to a short cannon sequence suspended over a chasm.
After the cannons deposit you back inside the temple, you’re back on the run from the spike wall. Once again, your haste to escape can easily make you miss the last Puzzle Piece. You’ll find it inside a gourd mounted on a wall you have to cling to in order to continue the escape from the advancing spikes.
The final red switch represents the home stretch. Carefully avoiding the various Tikis, run and leap as fast as you can until you reach the final Barrel Cannon that will launch you to the goal. Don’t hesitate! The wall of spikes can still get you even while you’re inside the barrel.
