Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong have made it to the final boss battle. They must now face off against Tiki Tong.
To get to Tiki Tong, jump into a rocket barrel and race to the tower’s top. You can move left, right, up, and down to dodge obstacles. When you see the spiked shafts, move to the screen’s top to avoid being smashed between them.
After dodging shafts, you must fly around and avoid getting hit by Tikis riding in balloons. Just jink left, right, up, and down to get clear of this area.
Once you reach the tower’s top, you must defeat Tiki Tong. He consists of a head and two hands. Dodge and jump away from Tiki Tong’s hands, which he uses to try to smash you. The hands move extremely fast no matter where they come from, the sides of the arena, or from up above. However, you can time your jumps to evade the attacks by paying attention to the hands themselves. If they suddenly flash a bright red light, it means they’re about to strike.
Jump onto the red button on the back of each hand. Once you hit the button on a hand two times, the hand will turn into a mass of bananas.
After you defeat one hand, use the same tactics to defeat the second hand. You must jump quickly, since Tiki Tong does not leave it vulnerable for long. Tiki Tong will continue to use all of the same attacks from the first phase of the fight so long as he has one hand available, but expect them to come much faster.
When both hands are gone, Tiki Tong will use his head. As it crashes into the ground, get out of the way and then jump over the shock wave it creates.
Jump onto the red button on the head to get in a hit. You must do this three times. This gets harder after the first hit, as Tiki Tong does not stick around for very long. The best way to guarantee a hit is to jump over the shockwave and aim for his weak spot in the same jump, giving the boss little time to recover.
Tiki Tong will make random attacks with just his head. He will fly over and drop Flaming Tiki Buzzes across the area. Dodge them to avoid being hit. Some of these Flaming Tiki Buzzes will come after you rather than just dropping straight down. Wait until they get in close and then jump over them to get out of the way.
Get in your third hit on Tiki Tong’s head to finally defeat him and free all of the bananas the Tikis have stolen from you. Great job, Donkey Kong!
