How to get Ancient Coins in Sea of Thieves?

Ancient Coins can only be used in Pirate Emporium, where players go to buy cosmetic items to change their look with brand new outfits or get a new companion pet.

There are several ways to get Ancient Coins in Sea of Thieves, for starters, you can simply buy them for real money at:

  • Microsoft Store
  • Steam Store
  • In-game purchase through Pirate Emporium from a shop in the Outpost, or through the main menu of the game

Ancient Coins come in the following bundles:

  • Secret Stash of Ancients – 150 coins
  • Lost Chest of the Ancients – 550 coins
  • Hidden Trove of the Ancients – 1000 coins
  • Royal Treasury of the Ancients – 2550 coins
  • Glittering Tribute of the Ancients – 4250 coins

These bundles are usually on sale or on a special discount so check the storefronts to see their current prices.

The other way to get Ancient Coins is, of course, to grind for them. There are two possible options to earn Ancient Coins without paying real money:

  • Defeating rare Ancient Sceletons through emergent gameplay
  • As a reward during Seasons for reaching new Renown levels, you can get a Cache or Hoard of Ancient Coins containing only 25 or 50 coins.

When you collect enough Ancient Coins head to the Pirate Emporium where you can exchange them for the following items:

  • Pets
  • Pet outfits
  • Costumes for your character
  • Emotes
  • Various ship cosmetics
