How to Get the Rocket Launcher in Escape from Tarkov

The new impact grenades?

Players have been waiting years for the Rocket Launcher to release in Escape from Tarkov. Ever since the plan for tanks or the BTR was announced, it has been clear that this weapon will be introduced to the game.

It finally arrived, secretly through Escape from Tarkov’s 0.16.6 optimization update, and here’s how to get your hands on the Rocket Launcher or the RShG-2.

How to Get the RShG-2 72.5mm Rocket Launcher in Escape from Tarkov

To get the RSh-G2 Rocket Launcher, you must finish Grenadier and the Art of Explosion quests. Grenadier requires you to eliminate 8 PMCS while using hand grenades, which is one of the most challenging quests to do in the midgame.

After finishing Grenadier, you’ll get the Art of Explosion task that unlocks the RSh-G2 Rocket Launcher purchase from Prapor, and you also get one for free as the quest reward. The Art of Explosion is way easier to finish than Grenadier, since you can eliminate any target with the grenades or the grenade launcher. It’s just that you need to eliminate 35 of them, which can take some time.

Technically, you can finish the quests at level 33, but you must also reach Prapor rank IV to purchase the RSh-G2. There’s no point in rushing this quest to unlock the rocket launcher if you don’t have the appropriate level and rank yet.

Can You Buy or Sell the Rocket Launcher in the Flea Market?

The RSh-G2 Rocket Launcher is not available in the flea market, and you can only get it from Prapor or by looting it from other players in the game.

Since it is a single-use Rocket Launcher, you can’t even buy rockets to reload it. It is a one-time-use weapon, and it doesn’t disappear from your inventory or sling when used, making it dead weight once it’s used.

Considering it costs 182,944 Roubles, it is worth it when you think about it. It is comparable to the FN40GL, which costs way more. This weapon is quick and ready to use once you obtain it; no additional ammo or shells are required for purchase.

You can also bring back the empty RSh-G2 Rocket Launcher and sell it to the trader. Although picking up other items will still earn you more money, if you have more space and are about to extract, keep that rocket launcher.
