How to Finish the Key to Every Door Quest in Escape from Tarkov – Blackout Event
The Wedge is here to see you.
The Key to Every Door quest is the 2nd exclusive quest from the Blackout event in Escape from Tarkov. This one is quite tricky to solve since it requires a key, and you have to do it on one of the hottest maps in the game, The Labs.
The quest actually teaches you things about the event moving forward, as finishing the quest leads you to clues for extraction. Here’s a guide explaining how to finish the Key to Every Door quest in Escape from Tarkov’s Blackout event.
Key to Every Door Quest Walkthrough in Escape from Tarkov

The Key to Every Door Quest comes after the Wrench and Waterboarding quest from Skier, and both are part of an exclusive questline in the Blackout event. The first quest is basically just going to The Labs, but you’d be thinking, how would you even go out of the place, as you get fooled or teased by the game with all extractions being closed.
The first quest does finish, leading you to the Key to Every Door quest with the following objective:
- Locate the emergency access code in The Lab.
- Check if the emergency access code works.
To finish this quest, go to The Labs using a TerraGroup Labs Access Keycard. You can buy this from the Therapist at level 3, the Ref at level 3, or as a barter from the Mechanic at level 2, trading 1x Bulbex Cable Cutter and 1x Pipe Grip Wrench.
The quest requires the TerraGroup Labs Arsenal Storage Room Key (Blackout) to finish the quest. If you don’t have this, you can still go to The Labs, but you are hoping for two things to happen: someone else has the key and opened the room, or you kill Wedge and grab the TerraGroup Labs Arsenal Storage Room Key from him.

If you manage to get the key, go to the server rooms’ bottom floor and go through the small hallway with the doors leading to the black keycard room. The room you are looking for is the janitor’s room just before you exit to the hallway next to the black keycard room.
Once you have the key, open the door and go inside. Look at the whiteboard, and there should be a code. In the same room, you can open the gates and use the code later. The code varies for each raid, so it doesn’t matter what the first image in this post says or what you see online. There could be a finite number of circulating codes, but the fact that there are many different codes means you really have to open the room and learn the code for every single raid.
Now, the point of the event is to have fun, especially if you still have a lot of resources available in this late wipe. These events usually signal a big patch coming or a wipe, and Season 1 might be on the horizon.
Go use your loadouts and try to eliminate the new boss, the Wedge, on The Lab. Players will all be fighting for it, and there’s a good chance that the room is always open anyway, depending on the activity on your servers.
