Fishing is a great place to start if you’re trying to fill up your Disney Dreamlight Valley collection log. Not only is there a section for every fish in the game, but it’s also a good stepping stone to progressing into farming and cooking. One fish you can encounter pretty early into the game is the Kingfish. If you’re interested in learning more, continue reading to discover how to catch a Kingfish in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

To catch a Kingfish, you’ll have to head towards Dazzle Beach and scout for orange, bubbling fishing circles. White circles typically give herring and cod, while blue ones spawn shrimp. Orange circles are your best bet for getting Kingfish, Swordfish, and Fugu. If you don’t see any right away, you can cast your line towards the other circles to get more to spawn or leave the area and return later.

From here, you’ll have to rely on luck partially. Since Fugu spawn while it is raining, you’ll want to avoid fishing during this time unless you want to try your luck anyway. If you target orange fishing circles during clear weather, you’ll catch either a Kingfish or Swordfish. Once you get to this point, it’s entirely luck-dependent. If you get a Swordfish instead, you’ll have to wait for another orange spot to appear before trying again.

Once you catch a Kingfish, you can either use it in recipes such as Sweet and Sour Kingfish Steak, eat it raw to regain energy, or sell it for 450 Star Coins.
