Objective 1: Get into the Baxter Building
Captain America and Mister Fantastic start off on the helicarrier. Your first task is to get to the Baxter Building down in Manhattan. Follow the holographic studs to the edge of the helicarrier and then jump off the edge.
You must sky dive down to the Baxter Building. Maneuver so you move through the center of the stud rings to collect as many as possible. Since there is a crowd below, you need to land in the park across the street from the building.
The gate to the park is locked, so you must find someway out. As Mister Fantastic, attack the light pole by the gate. Then assemble the pieces into a grate. Step onto the grate and press the use button to move through the grate and emerge from another grate outside the park.
Break a satellite dish near the gate and assemble the pieces into a Fantastic 4 panel. Then walk onto the panel and press the use button. Mister Fantastic stretches into a bolt cutter and cuts the lock off the gate so that Captain America can leave the park.
The security system of the Baxter Building has locked down the front door. You need to get through the system to enter the building. As Captain America, throw your shield at the shield switch to lower a ladder.
Switch to Mister Fantastic and climb up the ladder to the ledge. Walk to the left. When you get to the blue pad, press the jump button once to jump into the air and a second time to glide across to the opposite ledge.
Since Mister Fantastic has the smart ability, use him to activate the control panel. Press the buttons that appear on the screen to begin unlocking the building.
As Captain America, move onto the pad in front of the door and press the use button to block the lasers with your shield. Then move the shield to direct the laser beam at the controls above the doorway to deactivate the security system and open the door. Head inside to see what locked down the building.
Objective 2: Follow Doctor Octopus onto the Roof
Doctor Octopus has stolen the cosmic brick and sends his octobots to attack you. Fight them off as either character. Clear out the lower central part of the lab, then work your way up the steps to the right, fighting as you go.
Assemble some pieces next to a small elevator into a Fantastic 4 pad. Then move Mister Fantastic onto the pad to change him into a screwdriver and remove the cover over a shield switch.
To activate the small elevator, switch to Captain America and throw the shield at the shield switch. Then climb onto the elevator and ride it up to the walkway. As you start to get close to Doc Ock, he starts a fire in the lab and then climbs out of the area, making his escape to the roof.
You need to get to the left side of the lab. Hold down the use button to use your shield to protect you from the flames as you move along the walkway.
You need Mister Fantastic on the left side of the lab as well. Assemble the pieces left behind when Doc Ock exited through the ceiling. Then move through the grate to join up with Captain America.
Hold down the attack button and target the grapple handle, then pull on the handle to open a hatch that breaks when it hits the floor. Assemble the pieces into a shield switch.
Throw the shield at the shield switch. This unlocks a power coupling. However, there is one more step to activate it.
Climb up the ladder and use Mister Fantastic’s smart ability to activate the control panel. This sends the power coupling into the socket and causes a power beam generator to rise up.
Jump onto the red pad next to the power beam generator to activate the beam that you will need to harness to escape the lab.
While Mister Fantastic stays on the pad, move Captain America to the center of the lab. Assemble a shield pad and then stand on it while holding down the use button. Deflect the power beam to the two reflector dishes at the back of the lab until each is powered up.
The power brings up the Fantastivator. Take a seat on this elevator and ride it up out of the lab and onto the roof to continue pursuing Doctor Octopus and the cosmic brick.
Objective 3: Follow Doctor Octopus Across the Rooftops
The two heroes arrive on the rooftop, but Doc Ock has made his way across a series of rooftops. Drop down to the lower level of the roof and save your progress at the control panel.
You have to get across to the next rooftop. Select Mister Fantastic and move over to the blue pads and press the jump button twice to glide across to the other roof.
Minikit 1
While on the rooftops, look for glass-covered planter boxes. Hit them to close one of the glass panels and wait for the flowers inside to grow out of the box. There are five of these in this part of the level. Hit them all to get the minikit.
Target the grapple handle and pull on it break open a wall. Assemble the pieces into a ladder, then climb up the ladder to get into a small room.
Break a crate of pieces, then assemble these pieces into a push pad. Push against the green side of the pad to rotate the large satellite dish on the roof of the office.
Climb up the ladder to the upper level of the roof. Then jump up to grab onto the acrobat pole. As you are spinning around the pole, press the jump button to jump across to the next pole and continue until you reach the next rooftop.
Head down the stairs and throw the shield at the shield switch to turn off the fans on the roof’s lower level.
With the fans off, Mister Fantastic can move to the grate. Move through the grate to get to another part of the roof.
Move up the stairs and break some pipes. Assemble the pieces into a Fantastic 4 pad. Then stand on it to change to a pump that pumps water into the tank and causes it to burst.
Climb up onto the water tower and assemble the pieces to make a zip line. Then jump up and ride the line down to another rooftop.
Doc Ock attacks one of the heroes, so take control of the other hero. Ride the zip line across to the other rooftop and then attack Doc Ock to get him to release your fellow hero. As Doc Ock leaves, he sends lots of octobots to attack. Defeat them all.
To continue following Doc Ock, you need to find a way across to another rooftop. Throw the shield at one of the supports at the bottom of the hotel sign. Then hit the second support to drop the sign across the gap so that you can use it as a bridge. Move across the sign to the next rooftop.
After fighting of more octobots, move to the rooftop’s right side. Throw the shield at the brick holding up the ladder to lower it. Then climb up the ladder and enter the building through a broken window. Hold down the use button to use the shield to block the fl ames so you can get to the acrobat wall. Now jump back and forth to get to the top of the acrobat wall and the upper level of the roof.
Break up a blue fan on the rooftop, then assemble the pieces into a shield switch. Throw the shield at the switch to activate the elevator so that Mister Fantastic can join you on the rooftop.
Target the grapple handle and reach out to grab it and pull yourself up to the upper floor inside the building. Then enter the elevator and stand on the red pad to send the elevator up to the rooftop.
Move over to the blue pads and jump off the side of the building to glide across to the next building. Fight off some octobots and assemble pieces you find where you land to create a zip line so that Captain America can follow you across.
Clear out all of the octobots and have Captain America throw his shield at Doctor Octopus to get him off the sign. Switch back to Mister Fantastic and then move through a grate on the right side of the building to get to the top of the roof near the sign.
Target the grapple handle and then pull on it to make the large bugle fall to the roof and break.
Jump back down to the roof and assemble the pieces into a Fantastic 4 pad. Then use the pad to turn Mister Fantastic into a crane and wrecking ball to get Doctor Octopus.
Objective 3: Continue Pursuing Doctor Octopus Across the Rooftops
Doctor Octopus flees through the Daily Bugle building and continues his escape along the rooftops. However, Spider-Man has now joined your team. His web-slinging will come in handy. Be sure to use the control panel to save your progress in the game.
To get to the next roof, you need to make a bridge. Target the grapple handle on the tower and hit it with some web. Then pull on the web to pull the tower down so that you can cross on it.
Move across the bridge and then use your spider senses to locate a wall that Spider-Man can climb. Climb up the wall to get to a higher part of the rooftop.
Use your spider senses again to find a couple of grapple handles. Press the use button to pull on them with your webs and activate a pair of fans below, which Captain America and Mister Fantastic can use to join you.
Break up some objects on the right side of the rooftop, then assemble the pieces into a control panel. Use these controls to open the gate to the next rooftop.
Fight off lots of octobots and collect the studs in the penthouse garden. Then walk over to the Fantastic 4 pad and use it to turn Mister Fantastic into rocket that hits the billboard.
Move Spider-Man by the edge of the building and press the use button to launch a couple of webs that grab onto grapple handles and pull the billboard down so that you can cross to the next building.
Fight off some more octobots, then follow Doc Ock past the rubble and through the hole he created in the building.
Objective 4: Defeat Doctor Octopus in Times Square
Doctor Octopus is finished running away from you. He is making a stand in Times Square. It ends here.
The key to winning this battle is to avoid Doc Ock as he attacks. Take on the octobots, but wait until one of Doc Ock’s arms gets stuck in the concrete. Then move to the green icon on the ground and press the attack button to disassemble one of his legs. It does not matter which hero you use.
Keep using this same tactic until you have removed three of Doc Ock’s legs. Then, when he has only one left, move in and punch him with a regular attack to finally defeat him and end the level.
Unfortunately, before you can recover the cosmic brick, Green Goblin swoops in and takes it away.
