Walleye was previously considered one of the rarest fish in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Not only is it found exclusively in one area, but it’s far less common than others like Salmon and Bass. There are many other reasons why you might have trouble finding one, which we’ll dive into later. If you’re trying to finish up your cooking collection log, you’ll have to get this fish at some point. If you’re interested in learning more, continue reading to learn how to find a Walleye in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How to Find a Walleye in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Typically, you’ll find Walleyes in Sunlit Plateau by fishing in the orange, bubbling circles indicating a rare, valuable fish spawn. Since other fish like Bass, Carp, Perch, and Tilapia appear here too, these fish would appear in white and blue circles, leaving the orange ones for the Walleye.
You may have noticed, however, that there aren’t many fishing circles in Sunlit Plateau. In fact, after several days, you might not find a single one! While previous theories suggested that this was due to a bug, the latest update revealed that you had to complete the Nature and Nurture quest line to restore power to the region. After doing so, fishing circles will start appearing again, allowing you to catch fish as usual.

If you’re not interested in progressing through this quest just yet, don’t worry. There is another solution that’ll bear fruit (or, in this case, fish) if you’re willing to invest some money. Let’s give a round of applause to Moana’s fishing boat.
If you level Moana’s fishing boat to its maximum rank, you’ll gain access to rare fish drops, including the Walleye. While it isn’t a guaranteed drop, having a max-level fishing boat will give you a high chance of getting one. Just make sure to check up on it every few hours to see what you got.
