Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways

How Long is the Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways DLC? – Answered

How long does it take to beat the DLC?

Resident Evil 4 Remake is one of the best action survival horror games out there, and it’s DLC expansion Separate Ways brings additional context to the main campaign. However, some fans are curious about how long it takes to beat this additional mode in the game that expands on the story of Ada Wong and Albert Wesker.

First-time players might be happy to know that Separate Ways is a comfortable experience throughout that brings closure to some of the questions left by the game’s main campaign. The Separate Ways DLC offers plenty of content for its asking price of $9.99, as it takes the average player 4 hours and 30 minutes to beat the story.

However, one of the main aspects of Resident Evil is its replayability as you can upgrade weaponry and play the campaign over and over again in different difficulties such as Hardcore Mode. Capcom expects players to breeze through the expansion’s campaign and content as an S+ Rank in Hardcore Mode is only achievable after beating the game in under 2 hours.

What is Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways?

The Separate Ways DLC explains Ada Wong’s involvement in the Resident Evil 4 main campaign. The story features the return of characters such as Luis Sera and new characters like the longstanding series antagonist Albert Wesker. The expansion will also feature some new monsters to fight against and some familiar sequences fans might be familiar with.

The Separate Ways campaign is accessible even without needing to finish the main game’s story. However, we can’t stress enough that doing so would be a mistake, as Separate Ways is significantly shorter than the story mode of the Resident Evil 4 Remake but has many plot spoilers that could (potentially) ruin your enjoyment of the main game.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. The DLC can be purchased from any of the aforementioned platforms. Once you have installed Separate Ways, you can start the DLC from the main menu of Resident Evil 4. For console players, make sure you have downloaded the correct DLC for the required platform, as PS4 and Xbox One versions of Separate Ways won’t work on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (and vice versa).
