How to Use Resources in Chests for Building and Crafting in V Rising

Vactorio?!

V Rising’s Invaders of Oakveil 1.1 patch brings one of the most useful and requested features in the game, magic pockets. You can now deposit any resource and use any resource inside the storage for building and crafting in V Rising.

There are a few prerequisites and limitations, but here’s how to unlock those magic pockets and get the best quality of life feature for base builders in V Rising.

How to Automatically Use Resources in Storages for Crafting and Building in V Rising

To use resources inside the storage, you must unlock the Treasury Flooring by defeating Nicholaus the Fallen. You can find Nicholaus the Fallen in the Forgotten Cemetery in the Farbane Woods. He is only level 35, which can be done near the early game, so some players rush the boss as fast as possible to unlock the feature.

Nicholaus isn’t a new boss in V Rising’s Invaders of Oakveil patch, and they only added an additional unlock by defeating him.

Once you have Treasury Flooring, three different patterns to choose from:

  • Affluent Pattern
  • Prized Pattern
  • Prosperous Pattern

Each Treasury Flooring pattern requires four Stone Bricks and two Gem Dusts each. You can start farming Gem Veins and smash all the stones on the way.

These patterns are purely aesthetic, and you should use the Treasury Flooring in one specific room where you store all your resources.

Pick a spot or corner in your base to make the storage room. I highly recommend a room at least 20×20 to accommodate all the storage units and any additional storage needed in the future.

Enclose the room with walls or multiple entrances. Make sure it is enclosed so the game can recognize it as a separate room. Replace all the flooring with your newly unlocked Treasury Flooring patterns.

Once the room has all the Treasury Floorings, place your storage and interact with each of them. Above the resource contents, you’ll see a flooring icon with a checkmark. A checkmark indicates that you can make all the contents within the storage available on the network or within the castle. Click the icon so that it is highlighted or activated.

If there is no checkmark, there must be something wrong with your walls or flooring. The room must strictly have all Treasury Floorings and be enclosed separately.

Once you have finished the setup, you can access all your resources for building and crafting. However, refinement isn’t included here. If you store Wood inside one of those storage, you still have to pick it up and put it inside the Sawmill manually. However, there is also a workaround or feature that can address this issue in the future.

How to Automate Refinement in V Rising

Near the endgame, you’ll encounter a boss named Henry Blackbrew, the Doctor. Beating him will unlock the Redistribution Engine, which redirects the outputs and inputs of crafting and refinement stations.

You’ll use the Redistribution Engine to transfer Pollen from a Grinder into a Loom to produce Coarse Thread, provided you also have Plant Fibers available.

The Redistribution Engine can handle up to eight connections, and each crafting or refinement station can be connected to 10 other stations.

While it may sound complicated, it is easy to learn because V Rising has some simple crafting recipes. All you need to consider are inputs and outputs. If the materials being crafted or refined can be turned into something else, you can probably use the Redistribution Engine to automate it.

How to Get Bigger and Better Storage in V Rising

To make things easier in the future, you’ll also unlock more storage containers, including large versions, after beating Sir Magnus, the Overseer, at level 66.

At this point, you will have all available storage for your resources, as previously, you did not have a specific place to store your fish and coins. While these items aren’t exactly used heavily on crafting and refinement, you might as well put all the storage in one area.

The large storage will double the storage capacity of each type, making it way more helpful. If your base or area doesn’t have enough room to fit all these, you can try moving to a bigger base by relocating your Castle Heart. There are several amazing base locations available, especially in the Oakveil Woodlands area.
