Raise your Castle!

Choosing where to build your base can be difficult, especially when there are so many good choices. However, there are a few areas in Vardoran that offer a more strategic position, and these are the best locations to build your base in V Rising.

V Rising: Best Locations to Build Your Base

Middle of Dunley Farmlands

There are a few spots in the middle of Dunley Farmlands that you’ll find really comfortable. These areas are close to a lot of settlements and points of interest, which you can farm for materials or research studies in the early to mid-game phases. But the greatest selling point is its proximity to the Haunted Iron Mine, which is one of the most farmed areas because of its abundant Iron Ore, and that it neighbors every region in the game. You really can’t go wrong with building a fortress in the middle of everything. It’s just that convenient.

East of Farbane Woods

This particular location is one of our favorites. It’s near to a lot of bosses and settlements in Farbane Woods and it’s right at the bottom of Dunley Farmlands. It’s not as great as some of the central locations when it comes to the mid-game stages, but it’s great for the early game. The environment is lush and full of resources, and enemies constantly scout the roads, so there are always materials and fights rushing through the area. It’s also a great view when cleared out since the location overlooks a chasm. This area is divided into two locations, but either works fine.

West and East of The Cursed Forest

The Cursed Forest houses a lot of terrifying monsters, but it oddly enough, makes for a great defensive location despite being on the edge of Vardoran. Both locations on either side of the Cursed Forest offer a fortified area that’s vast enough for you to build a secured and grand Castle. While it does require some walking to get to resources or bosses, the strategic position makes it the perfect choice for PvP gameplay. I mean, nobody is going to walk halfway across the map just to attempt to raid a heavily guarded fortress inside one of the most dangerous areas in Vardoran, right?

North and South of The Silverlight Hills

Both the north and south locations of the Silverlight Hills offer great strategic points. To the north, you’ll have access to a wide range of land, while being far away from danger, but close enough to the Silverlight Hills, Dunley Farmlands, and Gloomrot region. On the other hand, there are a few southern locations that border both Dunley Farmlands and Farbane Woods, which are perfect for early to mid-game stages. Both sides of the Silverlight Hills offer access to the Sacred Silver Mine and are great defensive areas for PvP gameplay.

Hallowed Mountains

Hate people’s guts? Don’t enjoy getting raided? Prefer not to talk with other vampires? The Hallowed Mountains offers a lot of locations that can be easily fortified and you’ll probably never encounter any issues within PvP gameplay. It’s conveniently placed right next to Farbane Woods, Dunley Farmlands, and the newest region, the Ruins of Mortium. These locations are great for late-game stages, where you’ll most likely be spending your time, trying to get buff enough to beat down Dracula or other players.

West of Farbane Woods

This location is great for early-game stages because it’s near practically everything important for your adventures from level 10 to 30. There are a few areas in the west of Farbane Woods that offer a lot of land for you to build on. It’s also close enough for you to reach Silverlight Hills and Dunley Farmlands without having to worry about walking too far. Oh, and the best part? It’s right above the Bandit Copper Mine, so you’ll be able to farm materials and minerals before everyone else. It’s a great starting point for any player.

Middle of Gloomrot

Gloomrot is one of the late-game areas in V Rising that’s home to a lot of useful resources and research studies, so positioning your base right in the middle of the region will give you access to everything it has to offer. Not only that, though, but you’ll be close to Dunley Farmlands, Silverlight Hills, and even the Cursed Forest. This location is great for players looking to continue their progression closer to late-game points of interest like the Pools of Rebirth and Transcendum Mine.

Whether you’re playing PvE or PvP, these locations will not disappoint. Building your Castle in the right spot can save you a lot of time and stress and place you far above everyone else. Having a strategic and comfortable base means you farm more items, kill more enemies, and progress much faster than the average player. And while everything in V Rising is up to personal preference, maybe some of these locations might influence your decisions to hopefully set up camp among these options or anywhere near them.
