When you think of a survival situation, there are a few things you need to get your hands on right away: food, water, fire and shelter. Considering Sons of the Forest takes place on a dangerous island full of cannibals who don’t appreciate a random person invading their camps, finding these necessities is all the more important as you navigate the land. While there are plenty of wildlife and berry bushes to gather food from, you can also get some in caves and other points of interest. Where to Find the Food Bunker in Sons of the Forest
Fortunately, the Food Bunker is close to the beach helicopter crash site, allowing you to get here relatively early in the game without too much hassle if you started here. However, it’ll take slightly longer to get here from the other two helicopter spawn spots.
The main downside is that you’ll only be able to access one main room before requiring a Maintenance Keycard to progress further. Don’t worry, though; it’s still worth coming here to pick up some food if you’re near the spot.

The route to the food bunker will depend on where you start and your current location. For example, if you start at the beach helicopter site, you’ll want to go southwest into the forest. Similarly, if you’re at the mountain site, you’ll head northwest instead.
Either way, your destination is in the northwest part of the map, just above a pond leading into the sea. On the surface, you’re looking for a cave with a ruined golf cart outside its entrance.
Once you enter the cave, head down the dark ramps and navigate through it until you find a latch labelled “Food and Dining”. Head down here and descend the ladder to find a food storage room! You’ll find various resources here to pick up, with more available through the Maintenance Keycard door.
