Do you like big ships? Ships with shields that won’t quit, and a cargo hull that could comfortably fit an entire planet’s worth of resources in it? And with enough seats to fit all your friends? Then the Star Eagle is the ship for you. And there’s a very straightforward way on how to get the Star Eagle in Starfield.
How to Find the Star Eagle Ship in Starfield
Not all ships are made from the same cloth and it’s not surprising that the best of them tend to cost hundreds of thousands of credits. Which is why the Star Eagle is a ship that’s worth the effort to get. And getting it is extremely easy.
To get the Star Eagle ship for yourself in Starfield, all you need to do is complete the Freestar Collective faction quest.
The quest is called “Empty Nest” and will take you all the way to Akila City. It is given by the NPC Sam Coe, who can be found at the indoor greenhouse at the lodge. Once the quest starts, you’ll need to do the following additional quests:
- On The Run
- Surgical Strike
- First to Fight, First to Die
- The Hammer Falls
- Shadows in Neon
- Deputized
- Where Hope is Built
- Where Hope Lies
To start this quest, you’ll need to complete one of the early main missions with The Constellation. This will lead you to Akila City with Sam Coe. Once you’ve completed Sam Coe’s negotiation with Gal Bank, you can then speak to Emma in The Rock, which is the Freestar Collective faction bar and headquarters located in the middle of Akila City.
Tell her you want to join the Freestar Rangers, and you’ll then kick off a series of missions which will eventually culminate in receiving the Star Eagle. And while you’ll have to make some pretty significant decisions (spoilers if you click this link), it’s absolutely worth it.
If you’ve already completed the Freestar Collective faction quest and don’t know how to access the Star Eagle, head to the local Spaceport Technician and ask them to examine your ships. You can then make the Star Eagle your home ship and it will appear in the spaceport automatically.
In Akila City, the space technician is in the small hut just outside of the city limits.
The Star Eagle ship is one of the best ships in the game. It has a massive shield pool, fearsome missiles, and it’s fantastic for resource gathering with a cargo limit of 2280. And up to five people can be within it at any given time.
That means you can have some of the best, most effective companions on your ship, which will give you the skill boost you need to make up for Star Eagle’s middling EM weapon system.
