Can't get into DBD? Find out why here.

Let’s say you’re getting ready for your daily trip into the Fog, but you’ve encountered something more terrifying than a face camping Bubba; the dreaded Infinite Initialization Completed error message. No matter how long you wait your turn, you’re going to find yourself stuck waiting to enter the game. Such is life in the world of online gaming. Thankfully, there’s a quick fix that may get you back in, but it could require multiple attempts to finally get back into the shoes of your favorite character.

When you first log into the game, regardless of the platform, your console or PC will go through a variety of checks to ensure that everything is running as it should be. Sometimes, however, it can get stuck on the Initialization Complete page, causing your game to endlessly load while never getting into the action.

To quickly try and fix this, you need to restart your game and possibly your console or PC. With the recent release of Nicolas Cage, there have been extended queue times plaguing the servers while trying to jump in, especially if you’re playing as a Survivor. It seems that these issues have extended past the normal gameplay loop and are causing log-in issues.

While it may sound repetitive, continue restarting your game if you continue running into this error. If you’re playing on Steam, you can always verify the integrity of your game files to ensure that it isn’t an issue on your end. Console players, on the other hand, do not have this privilege, so continue to close fully out of your favorite multiplayer game and start it back up.

Thankfully, it seems that giving the game the time it needs to restart is going to be your best option, as most players, myself included, have found that they can return to the Fog after giving this option a try. If push comes to shove, however, you may need to fully uninstall and reinstall your game. If you have a lot of DLC Killers and Survivors, however, this may take a bit of time, so be patient and get ready to start doing some gens again.
