The Steam Summer Sale is a Horror Fan’s Playground

Here are a few titles I recommend.
Dead by Daylight
Okay, this one’s intense. It’s a multiplayer survival horror game where you play as either a villain (not scary) or a survivor (extremely scary). As a survivor, you’ll be hunted by the villains while trying to complete a variety of tasks to aid your escape.
What makes Dead by Daylight particularly scary is the multiplayer experience. You’re not dealing with a simple NPC that you can fool by just hiding in a locker; you’ll need to outthink another human being. Even though sometimes the locker strategy still holds up!

Sons of the Forest
This is another terrifying game where you can easily fall prey to pretty vicious cannibals inhabiting the island you’re stranded on. However, the terror doesn’t last for the entire experience. Once you’re geared up and ready to fight, it begins to play more like an action game than horror.
Still, it is a horror game, and it’s 66% off right now, so definitely worth grabbing if you haven’t played it yet. It’s a great solo experience, but it’s even better with friends!
Little Nightmares II
You won’t find much sheer terror or adrenaline-pumping scenes in Little Nightmares 2, but it sure is a creepy experience. It’s a horror adventure game where you’ll solve puzzles, meet creepy monsters, and ultimately try to survive the experience.
The best part? It’s 90% off, so at only a fraction of the price, you can enjoy this awesome experience.
Outlast 2
The sequel, similar to the first game, is another terrifying experience where your only real defense is to run and hide. You have no guns, no crowbars or axes, just your feet and a locker or barrel. That’s what makes the Outlast games so dang scary.
The game isn’t all that expensive to begin with, and it’s 90% off right now, so if you have $1.99 to spare, it’s all yours on Steam.
Dying Light
Dying Light is a zombie survival game where we actually get to shoot back. But oh, it’s so much more than that. Featuring a fantastic story, a co-op experience, and plenty of your usual survival horror elements, it’s well worth picking up.
But what makes it exceptional is the overwhelmingly positive review score. You can tell from a 95% positive rating on Steam that this game meant a lot to a lot of people.
It’s also 80% off, so grab it while you can if you haven’t experienced it yet.
