How to Beat Pinball Mini-Game in Sonic Frontiers

How to Beat the Pinball Mini-Game in Sonic Frontiers

Sonic Spinball... well, kinda

The Open-Zone world of Sonic Frontiers is full of various challenges and very creative puzzles and mini-games. Most of them belong to the side content, while some are tied to the main story progression. Usually, those can cause your high-speed adventure to slow to a complete halt – if you don’t figure out how to complete them fast. At the very end of Chaos Island (third Island), Sonic has to overcome a challenge in the form of ancient machinery – a Pinball table with an enormous high score required to finish. So, let’s find out how to beat the dreaded Pinball mini-game in Sonic Frontiers.

Right from the beginning, it will be clear to you that this will take some time. A high score of a whopping 5,000,000 points is required to successfully complete this Pinball distraction.

Using L1 and R1 on PlayStation or LB and RB on Xbox, you will control the flippers to bounce the ball (which is NOT SONIC this time!) towards various bumpers and passages that will bring you points. You will immediately notice how few points each pinball element brings – and the situation will seem quite impossible.

The only way to complete this pinball challenge in a reasonable amount of time is to increase the score multiplier by collecting the Red Star Rings that will appear from time to time on the board. The more you collect, the higher the multiplier will be – it is enough to raise it to x64 or x128, and it will be enough to collect 5 million points relatively fast. Otherwise, it is possible to raise it to the maximum of x500. Of course, there is a lot of luck involved in when and where the Red Star Rings will appear and whether and how quickly you will manage to collect them.

Fortunately, there is no time limit, but you only have 3 balls at your disposal. If your ball ends up in the left or right exit channel or falls between the flippers, your score will remain, but you lose one of the three attempts and your multiplier will be reset back to x1.

When you manage to collect five million points, a cutscene will start and the path opens to the Titan boss of Chaos Island – it’s time for a duel with the Knight.
