A massive 1.4 GB update just dropped for Dave the Diver, one of the biggest indie summer hits of 2023, and there are a lot of changes, improvements, and updates. Developers call this a “Hotfix,” but I’m calling it “patch notes” as this update is quite significant. Find out what Hotfix 7/18 brings to the (sushi) table below.

Improvements
1) Sushi Restaurant
- Added batch dispatch function.
* Now you can select multiple employees per ingredient and send them all at once.
2) Sea People Village
- A notification will be displayed when there’s a crop ready to be harvested.
- Crops will be listed by the name of the crop, not by the seed name.
3) Cutscenes
- Special cutscenes have been added for the final upgrade of each weapon.
Balance
1) Boss Fight
- [Revenge Time!] Adjusted the behavior patterns of the [REDACTED].
2) Underwater Exploration
- [Chapter 3] The Seaweed map will appear more frequently in the Blue Hole.
- Increased the chance of seaweed and sea urchin spawns.
- There will be more seaweed and sea urchins appearing at night than during the day.
3) Sushi Restaurant
- Whole-Roasted Shark Head’s taste value and price has increased.
Bug Fixes
1) Sushi Restaurant
- Fixed an issue where recruitment wasn’t possible in certain situations, even if there were available employees to hire, after achieving Diamond rank on Cooksta.
- [After Chapter 3] Fixed an issue where the game would sometimes close during a [REDACTED] and the mission would not progress.
* If the game is already saved in the middle of the mission, you will be able to replay the [REDACTED]. - [After Chapter 3] Fixed an issue where the [REDACTED] would not progress normally after you upgraded your Cooksta Rank.
- [After Chapter 3] Fixed an issue where [REDACTED] mini-games would not work at certain screen resolutions.
2) Underwater Exploration
- [Chapter 4] Fixed an issue where weapons and items were reset after moving to the [REDACTED] when progressing through the story.
- [Chapter 5] Fixed an issue where players sometimes couldn’t continue after dying while fleeing from [REDACTED] in the [REDACTED].
- Fixed a bug where the visual effects of weapon crates were displaying incorrectly.
- [After Chapter 3] Fixed an issue where the dialogue would display incorrectly when retrying certain [REDACTED] encounters after a failed attempt.
3) Sea People Village
- Fixed an issue where Dave couldn’t talk to certain Sea People Villagers after finishing the game.
4) Other Fixes
- Fixed an issue where sounds from certain fish were missing.
- Fixed an issue where the sound would continue playing repeatedly after defeating certain bosses.
- Fixed various typos in the text reported to us by the community.
- Fixed various mistranslations and text that were cut off in certain languages.
- Improved overall quality of the European language translations (French, Spanish, Portuguese, German)
*Still a work in progress, but will continue to improve the quality of the translations.
