Mario Strikers: Battle League – or Mario Strikers: Battle League Football as it is known in Europe – arrived on Nintendo Switch in June 2022 as a continuation of the fun Mario sports spin-off. Initially, our resident Nintendo reviewer did not like it very much; in our review, we gave it a score of 5/10 and one of the biggest complaints was the lack of content.

All New Players and Gear in Mario Strikers Battle League: Free Update 2
The second free update for Mario Strikers Battle League, which was presented in detail at the Nintendo Direct on September 13, 2022, brings the following:
- Two new playable characters: Pauline and Diddy Kong
- New gear: Barrel Set that brings boost for speed and shooting
- New venue: Planetoid Stadium

As the name suggests, this update will be completely free, you will not need a Switch Online subscription to download it, and it will be released at the end of September 2022. The previous free update was released on July 21 and brought new playable characters Daisy and Shy Guy as well as a new Knight gear set.
