New Moodlets & Wishes
There are many avenues to happiness and fulfillment (and a few back roads to misery, too). You’ll get the most out of Supernatural by discovering the best ways to get your Sims feeling good about themselves. To do this, let’s zero in on the smartest (and easiest) ways to deliver unto your Sims their dreams, such as helping them build careers, develop skills, or seek out exciting opportunities.
New Moodlets
The quick-glance measurement of a Sim’s current happiness—or lack thereof—is mood. Mood is displayed in the Mood meter that occupies the bottom-center of the screen, right next to the portrait of the active Sim. The Mood meter is shaped like an upside-down exclamation point. Good mood is represented by green. As the Sim dips toward neutral or tense feelings, the meter turns yellow. When the meter displays red, your Sim is seriously bummed or agitated about something going on in their life or the world around them. You must pay immediate attention to the Sim and rectify whatever situation or interaction is upsetting them or else mood will tank out you not only won’t bank Lifetime Happiness points, but you also risk spoiling opportunities and relationships.
Because moodlets contribute to your Sim’s overall mood, you need to pay close and constant attention to the Moodlet panel. Moodlets are the fleeting bits of emotion that come and go with the flow of time as well as the presence of external influences. Some negative moodlets require direct attention. Others, especially the positive moodlets, should be enjoyed and whenever possible maintained so you can extend or at least maximize their benefits. Neutral moodlets often act as indicators, such as hints as to hunger level. A neutral moodlet left unattended will sometimes devolve into a negative moodlet, which in turn spoils the day. Keeping an eye on neutral moodlets is an enormous time-saver, because having to redirect activity to negate a negative moodlet can absorb multiple hours... and often some Simoleons!

New Wishes
As soon as your Sims arrive in town, they start expressing wishes to you via the Wish panel at the bottom of the screen. In addition to their Lifetime Wish, which you selected in Create a Sim, Sims can have up to four active wishes at a time. When a Sim has a new wish, it appears in the arched bubble on top of the Wish Panel. Multiple wishes can stack up in that arched area, so use the arrows on either side to scroll through them and see what the active Sim desires at that given moment.
To promise a wish and add it to your Sim’s active wishes, left-click on the wish. To deny a wish, right-click on it. There is no punishment for denying a wish. A Sim will just forget about it—there are no grudges for canning a Gardening class wish or whatever. However, dismissing a wish doesn’t necessarily mean a new wish will immediately take its place. You may have to wait a while before your Sim conceives of a new wish. Exploring town or mingling with other Sims often encourages your Sim to develop new wishes, so if you need to nudge your Sim, get out there!
Wishes are not universal across age groups. Sims of differing ages will want different things. A child will never desire to join a specific career track, but instead want to be talked to, played with, or receive a new object like a toy. Teen Sims start to mingle wishes with young adult and adult Sims, although you will see slight variations on wishes—many are socially oriented, too. Because Sims can undergo personality changes as they age, some wishes do not survive the move between age groups. For example, the desire to have a baby will disappear when your adult Sim moves into the elder age bracket.
To learn more about a wish, just move the cursor on top of it. The full details of the wish appear in a box. The box explains what the wish is, what needs to happen to fulfill the wish (you can sometimes get hints here), and how many Lifetime Happiness points the wish is worth once fulfilled. Wishes with loftier or more time-consuming goals are commonly worth more Lifetime Happiness points.
Wishes are spread across multiple categories, such as career wishes or supernatural wishes. Supernatural wishes are typically exclusive to specific supernatural types. For example, a vampire will not get werewolf-oriented wishes and vice versa.

Lifetime Rewards
When you max your mood into the bubble at the top of the Mood meter, you begin accumulating Lifetime Happiness points. Lifetime Happiness points are also earned by fulfilling wishes. Lifetime Happiness points are a precious commodity indeed, as they are then traded in for Lifetime Rewards, which are a series of special skills, traits, and objects with unique properties. Gather as many Lifetime Happiness points as possible—this is a great way to measure to the progress of your Sim and see how well they are doing in life.

- Cost: 40,000
- Supernatural Exclusive: None
- Description: Creating gold from ordinary objects isn’t for the casual alchemy hobbyist—this is the big league! Grant yourself power never before imagined, but remember that with great power comes great responsibility.
This reward performs two amazing functions: it can bind a ghost to your household, and it will transmute objects into gold. If you want to Bind a Ghost to Family, click on the Philosopher’s Stone and choose that interaction. Browse a listing of all of the ghosts in town. Pick which ghost you want to join your household. The ghost is then added and the headstone is placed in the personal inventory.
Want to try turning objects into gold? Drag an object on to the pedestal, then click on the Philosopher’s Stone and choose Transmute Gold. There’s a strong chance the interaction will succeed, and the object will turn into a valuable gold ingot. It’s not impossible for the interaction to fail, which ends up destroying the object. Plus, there is a very slight risk that the interaction will not only fail, but also totally backfire. The Sim casting the transmutation spell is instead turned into gold. This, as you might imagine, results in insta-death.
Immortal
- Cost: 30,000
- Supernatural Exclusive: Vampire
- Description: Become the greatest of vampires by tolerating sunlight and never die of old age.
When a vampire is Immortal, they can withstand the otherwise withering heat and light of the sun. While daywalking, their skin sparkles. In addition, this reward halts aging and noticeably reduces the Thirst need, which often results in better moods.
Alpha Dog
- Cost: 20,000
- Supernatural Exclusive: Werewolf
- Description: Sims will tremble at your new Terrifying Howl while Cursed Bites and growls are guaranteed to be fearsome.
Only werewolves may purchase this reward. When you are the Alpha Dog, your Cursed Bite is never rejected, meaning you always sink your teeth into a target Sim and turn them into a werewolf. Growling is never rejected by another Sim either. Alpha Dogs also have access to a new, powerful Terrifying Howl interaction that results in all Sims on the lot getting the Terrified moodlet. Like Immortal, this reward is only purchasable by young adult Sims or older.
Magic Hands
- Cost: 20,000
- Supernatural Exclusive: Witch
- Description: Wands are for amateurs! Real witches can do magic with only their hands, and their spells never fail.
When a witch with Magic Hands attempts to cast a spell, they no longer require a magic wand. Their own two hands are more than capable of dispensing magic. In fact, spell unleashed from Magic Hands never fail and they often result in the same perks/bonuses that come from spells that previously required specific wands. As a cool visual, Magic Hands pop and glow when casting a spell.
King/Queen of the Fae
- Cost: 30,000
- Supernatural Exclusive: Fairy
- Description: Summon other fairies, change your wing color/shape at will, and make fairy magic less taxing.
This reward allows fairies to instantly (and as many times as they like) change the shape or color of their wings. It’s a cool cosmetic perk, but many fairies will get more mileage out of the reduced fairy magic costs that come with this reward. Now, your magic goes farther! Also neat: fairy Sims can now use the self interaction Summon Fairies. This opens a menu that shows nearby fairies that the Sim currently has a relationship with. Select multiple fairies from the list and they’ll show up at your location. Talk about an instant social gathering.
Opportunities
Opportunities are occasional events related to your skills and/or career. The rewards for completing opportunities include Simoleons, promotions, skill gains, and more. Supernatural offers many new opportunities connected to the new supernatural lifestyles.
