Rime Beetle Location in Monster Hunter Wilds

Rime Beetles can be found exclusively in the Iceshard Cliffs region of Monster Hunter Wilds. We found that Areas 2, 7, 11, and 13 have a decent chance of spawning a Rime Beetle.

Area 7 is the base map location of the Iceshard Cliffs region and it is also one of the closest areas where you can find a Rime Beetle if it spawns there.

NOTE: Most endemic life forms do not appear on the map, but that is not the case with the Rime Beetle. The easiest way to spot a Rime Beetle on the map is to look for a dark blue circular icon on the map, similar to the Sleeptoad.

How to Catch the Rime Beetle?

When you get too close to the Rime Beetle, you can press the interact button, and the hunter will kick the Rime Beetle and grab the frost ammo from this endemic life creature. However, doing this will avoid the purpose of capturing the Rime Beetle as it will run away and hide underground shortly after you kick it.

That is why you must not interact with the Rime Beetle when you get too close to it. Instead, use the Capture Net and fire at the snowball and you will capture the Rime Beetle.

Similar to catching the Ember Rufflizard and Dapperwing endemic life creatures, finding and capturing the Rime Beetle is also part of a side mission that you, as a hunter, will need to partake at some point in the game.

Once you have grabbed at least one Rime Beetle using the Capture Net, go back to the Windward Plains base camp and report back to Samin. This action in turn will complete the Samin’s Research Report (Cont.) side mission in Monster Hunter Wilds, and you will get 5 Honey and 10 Mandragora as a reward.

That is everything you need to know about how to find and capture the Rime Beetle in Monster Hunter Wilds. For more tips about the game, we recommend you visit our Monster Hunter Wilds Complete Achievements & Trophies Guide article.
