If you want to search for, find, and capture the Ember Rufflizard in Monster Hunter Wilds, then you must go to the Oilwell Basin region. According to the monster journal lore, you will only find this endemic life creature in hot environments such as near volcanic areas.
Ember Rufflizard looks like a komodo dragon but its surface body has a glowing hue that runs from head to tail. The rest of the body is black and that is also the reason it is hard to spot on the tarry surface of the Oilwell Basin.

In any case, once you are in the Oilwell Basin region, open the map and place the waypoint marker on any item between Area 2 and Area 4, and you will have a higher chance of finding the Ember Rufflizard.
