The Most Satisfying Feelings in Gaming – 2025 Edition

Get those dopamine hits!

Have you ever had that feeling of achievement in a video game, where you just have to let out a big sigh of relief or enjoy that immense gratification that you get from overcoming a challenge? Whether small or big, here are the most satisfying feelings in gaming for 2025!

Beating Simon in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

Simon is one of the final bosses in the record-breaking game, Clair Obscur Expedition 33. A slap from Simon humbles you immediately, as if to say, “You think you can finish the game just like that?” Yeah, you’ll need to learn all his combos, prepare for the fight, and be at max level. All these hurdles just make the win as satisfying as possible.

Getting a Rare Drop in Path of Exile

While most players who enjoy Path of Exile 1 and 2 talk highly about its depth and unlimited replayability, players rarely talk about the rare drops and how they carry the game to some extent.

The sound from a Divine Orb dropping alone produces a dopamine hit like no other game. If you keep playing, you’ll always be on the hunt for something “better,” like a Mirror of Kalandra or an amazing T0 unique.

Making a Brilliant Move in Chess

There is no question that Chess has had a resurgence since Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit. There are a lot of new players, myself included. With an influx of beginners, it is easy to make a move, but it isn’t easy to make a brilliant move.

On Chess.com, players can relive their games and find any good, great, excellent, and best moves. However, nothing is better than a “brilliant” move (not even the best moves) because it is not only one of the best moves, but it is also a difficult find.

Beginners won’t even know if they played a brilliant move until they review it. It’s common in chess to review your games when trying to improve, so you can avoid future mistakes, but nothing gives you a high quite like seeing those double exclamation marks of the brilliant move.

Beating Hollow Knight Silksong for the First Time

Hollow Knight Silksong is one of the most anticipated games in 2025, thrusting the souls-like metroidvania into the spotlight. The difficulty in the game is on a whole different level. The game is so hard that players even use mods to make it more grounded, and still have difficulty finishing it.

However, for those who plowed through it, the satisfaction of finishing it the first time is satisfying but bittersweet because there’s still a new game+ to get through.

Watching Your Partner Struggle and Finish the Puzzle in Split Fiction

Split Fiction is one of the best co-op story-based fantasy adventure games that pushes two players to overcome challenges together. These challenges are always puzzles mixed with mechanical precision and require actions from two players.

If you tried playing this with someone else, there’s always going to be that one person struggling on a puzzle while the other partner sits and watches. The longer your partner struggles, the more satisfying it is to see them overcome the challenge. And yes, most of the satisfaction comes from the one watching for this entry.

Smashing Customers with a Bat in Schedule 1

Schedule 1 is one of the biggest surprises in 2025. Everybody likes an underdog story, and Schedule 1, being developed by only one person, took the gaming world by storm.

In this game, you’ll grow your cartel and your empire one step at a time. During those other times, you have probably found a bat somewhere lying around and smacked somebody with it. It is a satisfying feeling, even more so when there are these customers who just won’t leave you alone and break into your house trying to buy some of your products. Yeah, those people deserve a swing!

It eerily reminds you of those classic Grand Theft Auto days, where you would bully a random passerby and stomp on them until they dropped some money. I hope this is relatable, and you don’t see me as a sadist.

A Successful Amaru Rush in Rainbow Six Siege X

With Rainbow Six Siege releasing as a free-to-play FPS competitive shooter and rebranding to Rainbow Six Siege X in 2025, they have received an influx of players. While there are many satisfying things to accomplish in R6SX, picking Amaru and using the Garra Hook to rush the site and have it work is rare.

However, when it works, it is usually the most satisfying feeling, even more so if you get an ace. A lot of things have to align for it to happen. You can even drone out the whole 2F Office on Consulate and clear it out, and still find someone there when using your Garra Hook.

Offset Attack Counters in Monster Hunter Wilds

Offset attack is a new term introduced in Monster Hunter Wilds. It is basically a “fancy” parry in layman’s terms, and it is as useful as it is satisfying when pulled off perfectly.

These offset attacks are different for every weapon, and it takes a lot to master them, as you may need to practice playing with your weapon and learning the behavior of the monsters.

Apart from offset attacks, you know those Hammer combos are also oddly satisfying… if you can hit them.
