How to Craft All Types of Potions in Monster Hunter Wilds

Cut through those preparation times.

Healing consumables are the most used items in Monster Hunter Wilds. Players could average more than five potions in a single fight, even more for beginners.

This is also why most encounters, especially during the main story, give you an optional task to “finish your preparations.” You must craft your tools and consumables and prepare fully for the incoming fight. Here’s how to craft your Mega Potions and other HP recovery consumables in Monster Hunter Wilds.

How to Craft Any Potion in Monster Hunter Wilds

There are three main healing potions in Monster Hunter Wilds: Potion, Mega Potion, and Max Potion. Potions only heal you slightly while Mega Potions heal you for a significant amount. However, the best of the lot are the Max Potions since they instantly restore your HP to full, regardless of your max HP buffs.

You can buy Normal Potions from the merchant while Mega Potions and Max Potions are exclusively crafted. Here are the materials needed to craft the potions:

PotionBought for 8z
Mega PotionPotionHoney
Max PotionCatalystMandragora

Since Max Potions are scarce, you should always try to stock up on Potions and Mega Potions when you can. Potions are cheap, so nothing’s stopping you.

Once you have the materials, access the crafting list through the base camp menu. You can also access the crafting list in the menu, but you must have the materials ready before crafting. If you access the crafting list through the base camp menu (tent), you can access the Item Box, which holds all your resources.

Once in the crafting list menu, look for the potion you want to create and craft it. I always try to keep a surplus of Mega Potions, so I can just grab some whenever the need arises. It works for me.

How to Restock Potions in Monster Hunter Wilds

Once you craft plenty of potions, you can only hold 10 of each kind. After a grueling fight with a strong monster, you’ll probably need to restock. Before going into your next hunt or mission, go to your Item Box through the camp menu.

Look for “Transfer Items.” This will open a window where you can see every item in your Item Pouch and your Item Box. Navigate through the Item Box and refill your potions if you have none. Deposit some of the items you don’t need so you can have more room to pick up other items.

Make sure to customize your Radial Menu when you take things in and out of your Item Pouch.
