If you’re on the hunt for a Mew photo, we’ve got you covered with a quick guide on where you can find Mew in New Pokemon Snap!

New Pokemon Snap | Where to Find Mew

Mew can be found in the Founja Jungle (Night) course after you beat the main campaign in New Pokemon Snap. To find Mew, you’ll need to turn all the way around and face behind you in the NEO-ONE immediately after spawning into the Founja Jungle (Night) course.

At first, you’ll see a little Morelull and nothing else. To spawn Mew’s pink/purple orb, press R to begin playing Music. This will summon Mew’s orb, and you’ll need to throw a Fluffruit at this orb to get Mew to appear

The orb will follow you through the course so don’t worry if you don’t get Mew the second its orb spawns. The first time Mew appears out of its orb you’ll have a split second to take a photo before it blinks away.

Don’t worry about this either, as Mew will appear elsewhere in the Founja Jungle (Night) course. For example, you’ll see Mew hiding out by the Ancient Ruins. Based on our experience in the game, it seems you can also summon Mew by pressing R to play Music at specific moments.

For example, when we neared the waterfall area and pressed R to play Music and wake Liepard up, we were surprised by an up close and personal visit from Mew instead.

If you’re looking to take the best shot of Mew, we recommend pressing R to play Music right before you reach the sleeping Liepard.

To recap, the order of tasks you’ll need to complete in order to find and photograph Mew are as follows:

  • Play the Founja Jungle (Night) course after beating the campaign in New Pokemon Snap.
  • When you spawn in Founja Jungle (Night), turn all the way around and press R to play Music to summon Mew’s orb.
  • When you see Mew’s orb, aim and hit it with a Fluffruit.
  • Keep an eye out for Mew throughout the Founja Jungle (Night) course for photo opportunities, including one by the Ancient Ruins and another by sleeping Liepard near the waterfall.

We hope this guide has helped you find and photograph Mew in New Pokemon Snap. Be sure to check back, as we’ll be posting more New Pokemon Snap guides for you here at Prima Games!
