How to Use Protego in Hogwarts Legacy – All Platforms

As stated above, it is extremely important to begin mastering your use of Protego in Hogwarts Legacy. Protego is one of the first skills I personally attempted to master since it’s so integral. Luckily, the game gives you a few prompts to help you time it effectively.

On PC, you can use Protego by hitting the Q key. For Xbox you will use the Y button, and PlayStation you will press the Triangle button.

The best time to use Protego will be when the game prompts a yellow circle around your character’s head. You can use the spell before this prompt, however you risk it failing the earlier you use it.

On Very Easy or Easy difficulty, you will also see a button prompt on your screen for when to use Protego. If you’re looking for practice, it is recommended that you play on these difficulties to master your timing.

By holding the Protego button down at the correct time, players will be able to use the Stupefy Charm which will stagger the enemy. Enemies effected by Stupefy will also take increased damage.

Now that you know how to use Protego effectively in Hogwarts Legacy, it’s time to get out there and Stupefy some enemies!
