So, Unforgivable Spells… If you’ve read the Harry Potter books or watched the movies, you know what they are: three wicked spells that can seriously harm others or grant you the ability to carry out other sinister deeds like mind control. No wizard or witch with a functioning moral compass would ever use these spells, which is why they are considered unforgivable. Nevertheless, here we are wondering whether these spells are included in Hogwarts Legacy and whether using them has consequences. Let’s find out.

What Happens When You Learn the Unforgivable Spells in Hogwarts Legacy?
Avada Kedavra, AKA the “Killing Curse”, the mind-controlling Imperio, and Crucio, which is used for torture are all in the game, and yes, you can learn to use them all. To unlock all three, you will need to complete Sebastian Sallow’s quest line, and once you get them in your spell arsenal, you can use them off-campus.
But are there any consequences for using these forbidden spells? Well, not much. Other Hogwarts students can give you stink eyes if they see you using them, and NPCs will gasp and make some comments, but besides that, you won’t have any other consequences for using dark arts.
There is no morality scale or any stat that would change because you used Unforgivable Spells – so it won’t have any effect on your character and the flow of the main story. The devs stated that they wanted to allow all players to use these spells if they wanted, but some fans would say that the absence of any consequences for using them takes away from the whole unforgivable status they have in other media.
