She’s a strong DPS and support Descendant, perfect for solo and team play. Here’s the fastest way to unlock Serena in The First Descendant’s Beyond the Void season.

How to Get Serena in The First Descendant

To start her research, Serena needs four main materials, including the Serena Code. This is the same for all Descendants, but Serena’s materials are mostly found in the new event zone introduced in S2E2 Beyond the Void. Here are the Descendant materials needed to unlock Serena and also the additional materials to craft those Descendant materials:

Serena Enhanced CellsSerena StabilizerSerena Spiral CatalystSerena Code
Semi-Permanent Plasma x290Superfluid x571Metal Accelerant x519Serena Code – drops from Broken Boundary Operation
Monomolecular Extractor x499Nanopolymers x363Silicon x430
Veildust x26Veildust x26Veildust x26
Serena Enhanced Cell Blueprint (Broken Boundary Operation)Serena Stabilizer Blueprint (Isolated Desert Operation)Serena Spiral Catalyst Blueprint (Isolated Desert Operation)

Once you have all the resources, go to the Research Institute or talk to Anais in Albion. Look for Serena in the Descendant tab and start her research.

It takes eight hours to process or research each material and 16 hours to research Serena. Farming the item could take hours, depending on your luck, so even if you play religiously, you are looking at a day of farming and another day of research time at the very minimum.

Most common items are easily found in the main areas and you can check out our The First Descendant resource directory. As for the new resources this season, like the Veildust and Serena’s blueprint, these will come from the new area of the event that unlocks after the Void Vessel and Sigma-Sector questline.

How to Finish the Sigma-Sector Event Quest in The First Descendant

The Sigma-Sector questline starts after finishing the initial Void Vessel mission. Once you log in during the event, you’ll immediately get the quest in your Quest tab. Follow the dialogue, as it will send you back and forth talking to NPCs in Albion.

The whole questline goes as:

  • Finish the initial Void Vessel mission.
  • Go back to Albion and finish some dialogue.
  • Go to Kingston base to continue the dialogue.
  • Go to White-Night Gulch shipment base waypoint and continue the dialogue.
  • Finish The Resumption of Battle mission – Finish Fortress Outskirts on Hard (White-Night Gulch).
  • Open journal received after finishing the mission..
  • Go back to the shipment base and continue the dialogue.
  • Go to the data record point and interact with the data.
  • Teleport to the Hatchery in White-Night Gulch and talk to Gley.
  • Teleport to the Observatory and talk to Enzo.
  • Complete the Eye of Truth Mission on Hard and beat the Alternate Hand of Nazeistra.
  • Go to Albion and finish the dialogues.

After going through this long grueling questline, you’ll unlock the station that brings you to the new area, Sigma-Sector. The quest will now revolve around finishing these operations, and you can finish them in normal, hard, public, or private if you want. You can start running them without the quest continuation, but it is best to finish the whole questline to finish the event.

You’ll probably keep running these operations until you get Serena’s blueprint. Now, everything depends on your luck in getting Serena’s Descendant materials.
