While you’re out looking for Mutt in the region surrounding Troskowitz, you’ll have an encounter with the shepherd Siegfried at Kopanina. He’ll lend you Ignatius, a sheep who can’t resist carrots, to use as bait to lure in a pack of wolves that may have Mutt among them.
During the encounter, Ignatius has a very high chance of dying as the wolves chase after him, but here is how you can save him in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
Save Ignatius the Sheep in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
After laying the bait, which is Ignatius chowing down on a carrot, you need to head for the bushes and wait for an hour (time will automatically pass when you select “Lurk on wolves“). As soon as the hour passes, run back to the spot you left Ignatius, and you’ll see the pack coming from North East.

Position yourself between the bait spot and the wolves to direct their attention towards you. This will give Ignatius enough time to make a run for it, and he’ll survive the encounter as the pack will be more interested in you instead. You don’t need to kill the wolves, but you’ll earn reputation points and some groschen for doing so as a favor to Shepherd Siegfried.
In the event that Ignatius doesn’t make it, you can always butcher him and dry his meat, so you’ve got some food for the road.
Killing the Wolf Pack
Fighting wolves largely comes down to defending at the right moment when you see the green shield prompt, and performing a counterattack to do some actual damage.

After you’ve damaged all three enough, they’ll run away one by one. Be patient because you don’t need to run after them. They’ll slowly make their way back to the bait spot, and that’s when you can attack them again.

The pack consists of two wolves and one wild dog, and you need to kill all three. Once you’ve done so, a prompt will confirm that the wolf pack has been eliminated.

Once you’re done, head back to Shepherd Siegfried and inform him of your progress. He will give you 20 groschen for killing the wolf pack and you will earn some reputation. Additionally, you can tell him that Ignatius survived this dangerous encounter for which you’ll also earn some reputation.
Killing the pack and saving Ignatius is the ideal way for this particular part of the side quest to end. You aren’t getting much out of saving poor Ignatius, but we couldn’t let the greedy sheep die for our selfish reasons.
