Every game that comes to Steam now is another possibility of something to play on the wildly popular Steam Deck. If you’re looking for your next handheld game to play on the go, maybe Disney Dreamlight Valley is it. Here’s how to play Disney Dreamlight Valley on the Steam Deck.
How to Play Disney Dreamlight Valley on Steam Deck
With any game you play on the Steam Deck, you’ll want to turn on your handheld, go to the Disney Dreamlight Valley icon, and download it onto the Steam Deck.
Update 9/30/22: Gameloft has made official recommendations for the Steam Deck settings.
- Right click the game in your Steam Library
- Select Properties
- Select Compatibility
- Choose Enable
- Select “Proton Experimental”
It’s important to note that the game is not officially verified; however, it seems to run fine on the Steam Deck with a few caveats.
Most notably, you’ll need to use the on-screen keyboard for typing commands. Just hit the Steam button + X to pull up the keyboard when needed. It’s a small thing, but it runs better than most other games on the Steam Deck for a game that is not verified.
Otherwise, Disney Dreamlight valley seems to run well on Steam Deck, and if you’re looking to play this game handheld on something a little more powerful than the Nintendo Switch, this is an excellent option.
If you haven’t picked Disney Dreamlight Valley up yet, it’s currently in early access on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. To participate in early access, you’ll need to purchase a Founder’s Pack, for which there are a few different versions.
