The basis of Palworld is to catch Pals and have these various creatures either fight for you or make them work at your base. Increasing your capture rate will make catching Pals easier, and here is how to do it.
How to Get a Better Capture Rate in Palworld
There are a few methods that players can use to increase their capture rate when catching Pals. This includes using better Pal Spheres, upgrading through Lifmunk Effigies, and changing the rate in World Settings. The first two methods can be done in the game, while the last will affect anyone playing alongside you.
Crafting Better Pal Spheres
Pal Spheres are the balls that players will use to catch and contain Pals, but there are different Spheres to choose from with their own capture rates. Players will be able to unlock better Pal Spheres as they level up and spend points in the Technology menu. Here is the full list of upgraded Pal Spheres and when they unlock:
- Level 14 – Mega Sphere
- Level 20 – Giga Sphere
- Level 27 – Hyper Sphere
- Level 35 – Ultra Sphere
- Level 44 – Legendary Sphere
These can be crafted through the Sphere Workbench, Sphere Assembly Line, and Sphere Assembly Line II. Players can see the capture rate when aiming at the Pals, so be sure to have a few of each on you to determine which sphere has the best capture rate for the respective Pal. For example, Legendary Spheres should be used for incredibly tough Pals like Jetragon.
Upgrade Yourself With Lifmunk Effigies
Lifmunk Effigies are glowing green collectibles placed randomly in the world, and collecting enough of them will allow players to upgrade their capture rate. There are over 400 Lifmunk Effigies in the world, and players will inevitably run into them to collect.
They can be spent at a Statue of Power, which are found at certain locations in the world, or built at your base. The latter option is recommended for easier access.
Change World Settings
The capture rate of Pals can even be changed for an entire world, though this will affect all players in your game or server. This can be done at the World Select menu and by choosing Change World Settings.
The option is called Pal Capture Rate, and can be increased for easier catching or decreased for a tougher time. This and other settings in the menu can be changed at any time before loading a world and does not affect earning achievements.
