How to Get Employees in Schedule 1

To start hiring employees, you must finish the quest “Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy.” The quest shows you where to find the Warehouse, where you can find more neat features like acquiring weapons, finding the next tier of equipment for your liquid product, and hiring employees.

While inside the Warehouse, your quest will update, and you’ll have to talk to the arms dealer, fixer, and merchant. Find Manny on the second floor, and he’ll be the fixer. Manny lets you hire employees to run your business, but you’ll have to pay them a daily wage and assign them tasks.

You can hire a cleaner for the trash, a packager for your products, a botanist to grow more, and a chemist to make your liquid product.

When you reach this point, you don’t have to hire everybody yet. It could chew up your profits, especially when you have dealers moving your products exclusively. Cleaners should be the most efficient employees early in the game, but manually producing your products is still way more efficient than slow employees.

You can start hiring chemists and botanists when you move to a bigger location than the Bungalow.

How to Manage Employees in Schedule 1

Once you hire employees, the player who hired the employee will get a clipboard. If you are playing with friends, you cannot give the clipboard to other players because it goes to a special inventory slot next to your cash spot (9 on the hot bar).

It is moderately annoying, but we’ll have to deal with it until it gets updated.

You’ll also need to assign each worker their own beds inside your property. They cannot work without the beds because that’s also how you pay them. Use the clipboard on the bed to assign a specific worker to it. Once an employee is assigned to a bed, you’ll notice a briefcase on the bed. You’ll place their daily wage in cash inside the briefcase so they are being paid for their work.

This is the initial setup for all the employees. To assign them to work, you’ll have to use the clipboard and assign them to equipment.

For example, if you have a cleaner, you’ll assign them trash cans. Place a trash can near your growing plants, and if you hover over the trash can with the clipboard, you can assign your cleaner to it. You’ll see a radius around the trash can, which will be the area they’ll clean. If trash falls outside the radius, the cleaner won’t pick it up.

The cleaner is more complicated than the others as you just need to assign the other types of employees to their stations, like the chemical station, lab oven, packaging station, and plants.
