Fellows bring several quality-of-life improvements in The First Descendant. In the game’s season 2 episode 2: Beyond The Void, they added their next fellow, the Vespers Hunting Dog. Here’s how to unlock the Vespers Hunting Dog companion in The First Descendant.
How to Unlock the Vespers Hunting Dog Fellow in The First Descendant

To unlock the Vespers Hunting Dog, you must finish the research, similar to how you unlock Descendants in the game. You need the following materials:
Vespers Hunting Dog Enhanced Cells | Vespers Hunting Dog Stablizer | Vespers Hunting Dog Spiral Catalyst | Vespers Hunting Dog Stabilizer |
Cloned Plasmids x100 | Specialized Serum Culture x150 | Centromere Mixture x200 | Vespers Hunting Dog Code – drops from Void Vessel Hard (container reward that requires a Decryption Key). |
Noctium x75 | Noctium x100 | Noctium x50
Artificial Nano Cells x100 | Artificial Nano Cells x75 | Artificial Nano Cells x150
Vespers Hunting Dog Enhanced Cell Blueprint (Void Vessel Mission) | Vespers Hunting Dog Stabilizer Blueprint (Void Vessel Mission) | Vespers Hunting Dog Spiral Catalyst Blueprint (Void Vessel Mission) |
That’s a lot of materials and blueprints to farm, but nothing too different as it is the same grind in unlocking amazing things like Ultimate Weapons and Descendants in the game.
You’ll have to craft the blueprints, which takes eight hours each to finish. Mass farming all the materials and crafting the blueprints is the way to go since you need all materials ready to start researching the Vespers Hunting Dog. Once you have the materials, it takes 16 hours to finish the Vespers Hunting Dog research, which could take a few days to farm and research.
It is basically the same as unlocking Serena in the Beyond the Void season, with the only difference is you are running the Void Vessel mission instead of the Sigma-Sector Operations to get the materials.

Where to Get the Vespers Hunting Dog Materials in The First Descendant

All of the Vespers Hunting Dog materials drop from the Void Vessel mission. Excluding the blueprints and the code, the materials drops from opening Materials Storage Boxes in the Void Vessel mission should drop from normal and hard difficulties.
As for the blueprints and code, they only drop from the Void Vessel Hard difficulty. To save as much time as possible, you should run exclusively hard difficulty Void Vessel missions until you get the blueprints and code. Once you get those out of the way, you can speedrun the normal version to save time.
If you want to unlock the other Fellow, the Hagios Sheepdog, the process is the same, but you’ll exclusively run normal Void Vessel missions, as the materials, including the code and blueprints, all drop there.
