How to Get Salewa First Aid Kits Fast in Escape from Tarkov

Get that Shortage quest done fast!

Salewa First Aid Kits are not only used for healing but are also one of the most important early wipe items to find in Escape from Tarkov. You’ll need to find them with the “found in raid tag” for one of the early quests for your progression. Some players even pick a map at the start of the wipe where they can confidently find Salewas because everyone will be looking for them. Here are all the best spots to get Salewas in Escape from Tarkov.

How to Get Salewas Fast in Escape from Tarkov

Obtaining “found in raid” Salewas is one of the first “priority” objectives in any Escape from Tarkov wipe. You’ll get the Shortage quest from the Therapist early in the game, and it unlocks several other quests in the early game. Finding these Salewas fast is crucial to your early game progression as you can start finishing other quests after finishing Shortage.

For Escape from Tarkov veterans, they’ll probably have their own way of farming Salewas, preferably a map they are used to running or somewhere they can finish two or more quests at once. However, we’ll cover all the best Salewa loot spawns that don’t require keys so you can get the Shortage quest done early in the wipe.

Before we get to the spots, you must know where these Salewas spawn. Knowing how items are spawned in the raid will help you find almost anything in the game, which will help you get future items needed for a quest.

Salewa First Aid Kits are considered a medical spawn. Each overworld loot spot in Escape from Tarkov usually has a set category of items it spawns. Some loot spots may rotate between medical and ration items, while others are fixed to just medical or just ration items. A great example is the couch inside the Scav room in Customs’ Stronghold. It can spawn medical items like Salewas or IFAKs but also spawn ammo boxes like M855A1s and several other ammo types.

As for farming Salewas, you want to hit as many medical spawns as possible. Apart from these overworld loot spots, there are loot boxes, crates, cases, bags, bodies, and interactable objects in the world that may contain medical spawns. Here are the ones you need to focus on finding:

  • Medbags
  • Med Cases
  • Medical Supply Crates

Opening these containers will give you the highest chance of finding a Salewa. Remember that loot spawns can spawn different categories of items, such as Duffle Bags and dead (lootable) bodies. You can also loot these to find Salewas, but you’ll have a lower chance of finding one than in Medbags and Medcases.

Best Salewa Spawns in Escape from Tarkov

Customs – Stronghold

At the start of the wipe, my personal favorite to get these Salewas is in Customs. Not only do you have the chance to get multiple Salewas, but you can also finish other quests and get other quest items and keys in the raid, depending on your spawn.

The best spot to find Salewas in Customs is in Stronghold. This is where the Goons or Reshala usually spawn, and it is the middle of the Customs map. You want to hit the Scav room immediately on the first floor and look for the bed. You don’t have to search, which makes the spot easy to loot.

After the Scav room, head to the other small room on the first floor. This room contains a possible Med Case container, and med spawns can also spawn on the bed.

You can also go to the second floor and look for more Med Cases. There are two possible Med Case spawns on the opposite sides of the second floor. There’s also a medical supply crate, which should have the highest chance of spawning a Salewa because it contains more loot.

Streets of Tarkov – Camp

The next best Salewa spawn is in Streets of Tarkov. However, players usually skip Streets of Tarkov because you don’t get any early quests on the map unless you are only looking for quest items like Salewas, Morphines, and Gas Analyzers.

The Streets of Tarkov camp (where Kaban spawns) is one of the hottest spots in the game. Most of the loot in this area are “technical” spawns, but several medical spawns populate this location, too. First, you must hit the open storage containers next to both entrances. If you are by the Concordia entrance, the med spawns are by the metal shelves inside the storage container.

From this side, you can go to the middle and down to the garage mini-lab (you need to crawl inside). This is where you finish the Urban Medicine quest for future reference.

The medical garage has a possible medical supply crate, Medbag, and Med Case spawn inside. There is also loose medical loot on the metal shelves. You need to be fast when looting this area because the only way out is by crawling again.

If a PMC or Scav-player hears someone inside, you are an easy target for them because you are essentially stuck.

After looting the medical garage, you can also loot all the Duffle Bags in the camp, which has several spawns. You can also go to the small building (with tons of filing cabinets and look for the small room with many metal shelves. High-value med items usually spawn here, but there’s also a chance for Salewas.

As both entrances have a storage container with med spawns, those will be the last spots you want to loot for Salewas. Since, in this example, we started at the Concordia-side entrance, we’ll end at the Chekannaya building side entrance.

Interchange – Mantis, med tents, and TT

Interchange is one of the easiest maps to navigate. Since it is just one big mall, you can easily memorize these three spots for some med spawns: Mantis, med tents (Goshan), and TT.

Mantis is located on the first floor at the very center of the mall. There are multiple Medbag spawns by the stools, beds, and tables. There are also loose medical spawns by the shelves, but these seldom spawn any loot. There’s also one Med Case spawn by the side entrance. The whole area is easy to loot, so you should immediately go to the next spot, TT.

Exit through the side entrance of Mantis and go to the IDEA-side. Across the Emercom medical unit, you’ll see the TT store. At the far corner, there’s a chance for a Medbag spawn and a loose medical spawn by the table.

You can run to Goshan and hit the medical tents near the cafe to end the run. Most of the other medical spawns are locked behind keys like ULTRA and Emercom Medical Unit, so you can start looting normally after hitting the spots above.

Woods – Emercom Base (camp near RUAF Roadblock)

Woods might be the second best place to find Salewas early in the wipe, just behind Customs. However, the map is quite hard to navigate, and you will also go to one of the hottest areas on the map, which is the Emercom Base.

The Emercom Base, located between the Sawmill and RUAF Roadblock), contains several Medical Supply Crates, Medbags, and loose medical spawns by the tent. You want to focus on getting the Medical Supply Crates at the base’s center and get out as fast as possible. Some players might hear you inside and camp the exits if you don’t.

If you didn’t spawn near the Emercom Base, there’s a high chance of the area being looted already, which makes this raid quite risky if you are just looking for Salewas. However, you can also do the Introduction quest that unlocks Jaeger while doing this.

You can also go to the USEC camp to finish Prapor’s quest and loot one more medical spawn chance by the table. A friend even got lucky and found a LedX here, so it is worth noting that this spot can spawn some extremely valuable loot.
