Iron is, surprisingly, one of the most useful resources in Disney Dreamlight Valley. You need it for a few quests and can use it to craft furniture. Just a few examples include lampposts, benches, signposts and outhouses. With so many furniture items requiring it, you’ll need plenty if you want to decorate the village! If you’re interested in learning more, continue reading to discover how to get iron ore and ingots in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How To Get Iron Ingot and Iron Ore in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Since you need iron ore to craft ingots, we’ll begin there. You’ll find iron ore in several regions around Disney Dreamlight Valley:
- Frosted Heights
- Forgotten Lands
- Sunlit Plateau
- Glade of Trust
- Forest of Valor
Depending on how far you are in the game, you may not yet have regions such as the Forgotten Lands, and Frosted Heights unlocked. While this means you have fewer options for finding iron ore, you still have plenty of opportunities to find some!

Once you’ve made your way to one of these locations, start digging the black rocks along the cliffsides. While these often drop stone and coal, they’ll also give iron ore and gems. Iron is rarer than stone, but it is, thankfully, more common than gemstones.
How to Craft Iron Ingots in Disney Dreamlight Valley
After getting your hands on at least five iron ore, head to a nearby crafting station. Select the Refined Materials tab and choose iron ingot. You may notice that you also need at least one coal for every iron ingot you create. While you likely picked some up along your mining adventures from before, you’ll have to turn back and snag a few if you dropped them, used them in cooking or misplaced the coal.
Upon having the coal and iron ready, begin crafting your iron ingots! For every five iron ore and one coal you use, you’ll gain one iron ingot as the product.
