How to Get Common Carbon Activator in The First Descendant

Ultimate Gley, here I come.

Ultimate Gley is one of the strongest characters in The First Descendant, but finding the materials to research her blueprints is daunting. One of the hardest materials to farm is the Common Carbon Activators because they only drop from fewer locations than other materials. Here’s how to get Common Carbon Activators in The First Descendant.

Where to Get Common Carbon Activators in The First Descendant

Common Carbon Activators drop from the Vespers Infiltration Operations on both normal and hard mode. You want to finish either Sepulcher or The Shelter Duty of the Descendant missions.

You’ll get an average of 8 Common Carbon Activators per run, and it can take around 8-10 minutes to finish, depending on the strength and speed of your Descendants. Flash-farming these missions is best done on the infinite-running Bunny builds that wipe waves of enemies in a few seconds.

Best Common Carbon Activator Farming Strategy

The best way to farm Common Carbon Activators is by doing the The Shelter mission. You can finish the mission in under 4 minutes. If you only want Common Carbon Activators, you can finish the second objective in The Shelter mission (elimination objective) and eliminate the commander. This commander drops the Common Carbon Activators, and then you can restart the mission after getting the material.

It isn’t worth it to restart because the next objective will be a simple boss fight, so you might as well finish to get another Amorphous Material Pattern. But, if your goal is purely Common Carbon Activators, you can leave after defeating the commander.

There is also one downside to this strategy. Since you might be farming Ultimate Gley in farming this material, you want the Amorphous Material Pattern: 076 from the Sepulcher mission, which drops the Ultimate Gley Stabilizer Blueprint. Sepulcher takes twice as long to finish because of the escort, but at least you are getting the pattern used to get Ultimate Gley’s Stabilizer Blueprint.

You can also get some Conductive Metallic Foils from running these missions, but at a very low rate. These are useful for crafting more Energy Activators in the endgame.
