Hogwarts Legacy is full of magic tricks that could be perceived as orbs as you adventure around, but there’s only one orb you’ll need to destroy if you want to survive. Those who have made it far enough in the game have gone up against the Pensieve Guardian and the orb it wields to dispatch its enemies.
The Pensieve Guardian
You’ll come across the Pensieve Guardian and its deadly orb as a boss in the final chamber of Percival Rackham’s Trial in Hogwarts Legacy. It’s essentially a more imposing, heavier-hitting version of the Pensieve Sentries and Sentinels you’ve been combating through the trial’s other chambers, except now it’s big. And once you do enough damage to Pensieve Guardian, it’ll pull out an orb you’ll need to destroy.
Aside from the orb, there are plenty of attacks that players need to learn as they fight against the Pensieve Guardian. Hogwarts Legacy – How to Destroy the Orb
After you deal some significant damage to the Pensieve Guardian, you’ll hit a phase of the fight where the guardian spawns an orb. This energy ball will increase in size as others around it appear as well. You’ll know it when you see it, and if the orb isn’t destroyed in time, then your character will be hit with a high-damage attack.
The key to destroying the orb in Hogwarts Legacy is pure damage or matching a spell to the color of the orb. You’ll notice that a few hits won’t destroy the energy building up, but don’t let that discourage you. Utilize all of the red spells that you have such as Incendio and Confringo to dump as much damage as possible on the orb. When the orb is yellow or purple, use spells like Glacius and Descendo to burst it. If the background color for a spell on your spell slot matches the color of the orb, then that’s the spell you’ll want to use.
If you’re having trouble matching spell colors to the Guardian’s orb, you can try levitating one of the statues around the arena and throwing it at the orb. There are only a small number of statues in the area, but they should destroy the orb without all the fuss of color-matching.
Mixed with a Focus Potion as well, you can spam these high-damage spells with great effect. Then the orb will shatter and the Pensieve Guardian will be stunned. Take this opportunity to deal as much damage as you can without having to worry about defense. Within no time, you can move on to your next Hogwarts Legacy trial.
