How to Complete Venomous Valour Sidequest in Hogwarts Legacy

Save a cowardly student from some rhyming bullies in this Hogwarts Legacy quest

Early in Hogwarts Legacy, one sidequest that nets some valuable gear and resources is “Venomous Valour,” a quick adventure that calls back to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone-era lore, which should be a priority among the list of non-story missions. Here is how to complete the Venomous Valour sidequest in Hogwarts Legacy.

Where Do You Start the Venomous Valour Sidequest in Hogwarts Legacy?

The Venomous Valour quest can be found near the Transfiguration Courtyard’s Floo Powder Flame. Head into the Dark Arts Tower through the nearby doors, and you will see a nearby NPC in need of assistance.

The NPC is Duncan Hobhouse, a student who is being bullied for being afraid of Puffskeins. He has received the new moniker “Puffskein Dunkein” by his tormentors (who really need to improve their insult game). Duncan enlists you to go to the Hidden Herbology Corridor, which is rife with dangerous flora, and bring back an item, so the cowardly student can silence his bullies by saying that he explored the hazardous location and lived to tell the tale.

Follow the trail on your mini-map, which will lead to a passage overgrown with vines. Make use of the Incendio spell to clear the vines and enter into the Hidden Herbology Corridor.

The inner depths of the Hidden Herbology Corridor is dark, dilapidated, and full of Devil’s Snare, the memorable carnivorous plant from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone that has a weakness to sunlight. Make sure to activate Lumos, as you navigate the dark cavern to survive the Devil’s Snare.

Eventually you will see a door on the right, off the beaten path, following this right doorway will lead you to a treasure chest, while the left side path will take you to the story objective.

Eventually, you will reach a Giant Venomous Tentacula. Take a leaf from it to bring back to Duncan.

Going up the nearby ladder will lead to the Greenhouse, which has another treasure chest and some more Venomous Tentacula to collect leaves from.

After you’re finished in the Greenhouse, you can either walk back to Duncan, or fast travel by Floo Flame. The closest is the Transfiguration Courtyard.

When you get back to Duncan you have the choice to give him the Tentacula Leaf or keep it for yourself, as poor Duncan is called “Puffskein Dunkein” for the rest of his days.

Upon completion of the quest, you will receive the Venomous Tentacula Robe.
