If you are a Wizard or a Witch that is attempting to explore every nook and cranny of Hogwarts Castle, then you will eventually need to access the Headmaster’s Office. This Hogwarts Legacy area is full of high-level locks and loot, but it will not be as easy as using Alohomora to gain entry.
Some areas in the game are locked off by progress rather than simply being able to pick a lock. This is true for the Headmaster’s Office, and even then, you will need a password. Our guide will cover exactly how you can reach the office and start exploring for yourself.
Hogwarts Legacy – How to Access the Headmaster’s Office
To even think about gaining access to this iconic office, you will need to reach the “Polyjuice Plot” quest which is given as a late-story mission. None other than Professor Fig will assign this quest, and he will help provide you with a Polyjuice Potion that allows you to change form. In this case, you will be turning into Headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black.
After you take the potion, you can simply follow the quest trail that leads you to the Headmaster’s Office, which is near the Trophy Room in Hogwarts Legacy. However, you will still need a password once you reach the main door. Phineas Nigellus Black’s house elf, Scrope will be waiting and will ask for a password. As you speak with the elf, you can gain some clues until you have the right answer.

Without having to spend your time in trial and error, there are two dialogue options you must select to enter the Headmaster’s Office in Hogwarts Legacy. The first option is “You dare question me?” Then you will need to follow that up with “It’s to do with purity of blood.” Scrope will then give you the password and you may enter the Headmaster’s Office.
