Kismet is one of the most popular characters in FragPunk, not only because she’s the poster girl for the game, but also because she’s one of the strongest Lancers.
She splits teams, exposes weaknesses, and scans for her team to gain an advantage. Great skill usage and team synergy matter, and here’s a comprehensive guide on how to play Kismet in FragPunk.
Kismet’s Skills and How to Use Them in FragPunk

Here are Kismet’s skills:
- Hello, Goodbye – Scans all enemies in front of Kismet, revealing nearby enemies.
- Misery Angel – Throws a bomb that deals damage regardless of barricades.
- Walk on the Wild Side – Enters Rift Walk mode, becoming invisible and invulnerable, but cannot see anyone, including teammates.
Her kit pushes her to be an offensive Lancer, trying to take space and scan for teammates. She can push through areas or angles where other Lancers cannot because of her Walk on the Wild Side Rift Walk. This allows her to flank or cut reinforcements and go behind the enemy lines. These skills make her one of the best Lancers in the game, especially when attacking.
We’ll thoroughly review each of these skills so you have a better idea of how to play Kismet.

How to Scan Enemies Using Hello, Goodbye

Hello, Goodbye is her scanning ability, but it has a short range. In fact, the center of the scan is literally placed in front of Kismet but the radius is as big as half a planting site. Using Hello, Goodbye means you must get close to potentially scan nearby enemies.
Its strength lies in scanning enemies past walls, obstacles, and even enemy gadgets. Since Hello, Goodbye’s scan is a circle that goes past objects, it can scan enemies hiding in corners or holding tight angles close to entry points.

Apart from using Hello, Goodbye near entry points or to clear out hiding spots, it is also a good utility for yourself when pushing. Since the scan has a 2-second delay when activating, it gives you time to bring out your weapon and push immediately after the scan hits.
It is also worth mentioning that in very niche situations, the scan’s radius can completely clear out Zephyr’s Fade Away skill radius, making her a good counter for any sneaky shenanigans by Zephyr players.
How to Use Misery Angel

Misery Angel is a bomb that can be used as a normal grenade, but it is different in a way that its explosion goes through obstacles too, similar to how Hello, Goodbye works. However, the radius is smaller than Hello, Goodbye, but way bigger than most grenades or explosions.
Misery Angel does a fixed 100 damage on enemies hit with the bomb, so it doesn’t have the potential to one-shot enemies. It is only meant to “remove” players from certain angles so your team can push more freely.
Kismet has two charges of Misery Angel, which should have the potential to completely clear sites, especially when used together since it doesn’t have a cooldown.

How to Flank Using Walk on the Wild Side

Kismet’s Walk on the Wild Side is arguably her best skill. She enters Rift Walk mode after a short delay and becomes invisible and invulnerable at the same time. During Rift Walk mode, Kismet cannot see anyone, but you cannot get hit by any random flying bullets or traps.
It is the perfect skill to get around. However, you should be aware that using Walk on the Wild Side has a distinct sound when activating and another one when exiting Rift Walk. The sound is a bit loud, so players have the time to react when you exit a Rift Walk next to an enemy player. Your weapon won’t be available immediately, as you’ll have a short weapon swap animation, putting you at a disadvantage against enemies.
However, it is mainly used to get a corner near the enemy territory. For example, if you push in one of the sites in Blackmarket as an attacker, you can use Misery Angel to push players out of position near the boxes in the site. Once you throw Misery Angel, use Walk on the Wild Side and take the same spot.
Even if the enemy hears you exiting Rift Walk, you can signal your team to push the entry point and enemies will be forced to cover two angles simultaneously. The Misery Angel also destroys any gadget or trap that could be placed near the spot.
If the enemy doesn’t hear you at all because no one is near, taking control of the site will be easier since you are already inside taking cover.
There are other uses for Walk on the Wild Side, such as flanking or escaping a bad situation. Just remember always to be aware that enemies will pay attention to your sound cues and you can even use that as an advantage.
How to Play Kismet in FragPunk – Win More Ranked Matches

The best way to play Kismet is to push with your team as an attacker and try to flank and cover as much ground as possible as a defender. She shines the most in gaining information and forcing enemies to react to her potential flanks, setting up potential crossfire with teammates.
When flanking, SMGs are great as they have a fast fire rate, perfect for close range. For other situations, assault rifles or marksman rifles are also good since they are generally strong weapons at any range. She doesn’t synergize well with sniper rifles, and there are Lancers more suited for the sniper role.
Most players play Kismet as a solo lurker, but you want to play with your team to set up some trades. Kismet is there to complicate situations or engagements because of her ability to reposition when using Walk on the Wild Side.

Kismet plays well as an attacker, but could also shine as a defender when paired with specific Lancers like Serket. Serket has a Dilemma ability where she throws a small orb and forces players to get pulled to the center. When used correctly, Kismet can get a lot of players with her Misery Angel just because of how big the blast radius is.
Other Lancers like Axon could also work, but these are the things you want to look out for when picking Lancers. You want abilities that synergize with each other.
