Most Lancers have unique and game-changing abilities that can dominate game modes in FragPunk. However, the main and most popular game mode is standard or ranked, which is the round-based 5v5 bomb (Converter) mode, and here are the best Lancers to play for that mode.
Best Lancers to Play in Main Mode in FragPunk
Axon

- Electric Guitar – Throws two Sticky Fingers bombs. When you get a kill, it replenishes two more Sticky Finger Bombs. When activated, Axon can slide.
- Sticky Fingers – Throw a bouncing sticky grenade and you can keep throwing the grenade if you hold down the skill.
- Super Freak – When activated, Axon is immune to blinds.
Axon is one of the strongest offensive Lancers because of all the bombs he can throw. When used correctly, grenades or explosives force people out of position, and clearing angles and taking more space is the key to winning in FragPunk.
Since everything is very chaotic, especially when Shard Cards are involved, having more offensive utility is always good. Use the Sticky Fingers to clear out angles in sites and try to replenish charges with the Electric Guitar. While you’ll rarely get a kill with a Sticky Finger, there are times when you know exactly where the opponent is hiding (when revealed) and can fish them out with a Sticky Finger. They are forced to fight at a disadvantage or take the Sticky Finger.
Kismet

- Hello, Goodbye – Scans all enemies in front of Kismet, revealing closeby enemies.
- Misery Angel – Throws a bomb that deals damage regardless of barricades.
- Walk on the Wild Side – Enters Rift Walk mode, becoming invisible and invulnerable, but cannot see anyone, including teammates.
With her Walk on the Wild Side skill, Kismet excels in stealth and flanking enemies. Since she can become invisible and invulnerable at the same time, she can reposition to the most unlikely places.
While it also provides some crossfire potential, it is mainly used for scouting information. Her Misery Angel is also perfect for destroying gadgets and even forcing enemies out of position where grenades cannot since the explosion blasts through barricades.
Her Hello, Goodbye also helps with scouting but I highly recommend only using it when trying to scout players from closed areas or behind walls.
Kismet is one of the strongest Lancers in the game just because of her Walk on the Wild Side. Just remember that players can hear and master sound cues and her skill has a distinct sound.
Kismet isn’t a free Lancer, so if you are contemplating which Lancer to unlock, she’s perfect for beginners.
Nitro

- Chug Chug – Deploys a combat drone that can shoot and scout players.
- The Wall – Places a wall of shields with three pieces of cover.
- Mr. Pewpew – Throws a sentry turret that fires automatically.
Nitro is probably FragPunk’s flagship character, and she excels in several things. She has Chug Chug, a combat drone that can shoot players without exposing herself. While players use the Chug Chug to tag others, it is mostly effective in scouting, even as a first point of contact and having someone trade it.
Her wall also forces players to think twice before entering a chokepoint because it forces them to vault over it, exposing them to different angles. It can also be used to block off potential flanks. Mr. Pewpew effectively synergizes with the Wall and even other traps from Jaguar or Pathojen.
Nitro is an amazing defender and can even use her setup to defend post-plant situations. She’s a free Lancer, so everyone has access to her.
Broker

- Goddard’s Vengeance – Rocket launcher that damages and knocks back enemies.
- Smokestack Lightning – a line of smoke screen.
- Cherry Bomb – A device that throws several energy bombs around and detonates with a short delay when enemies’ approach them.
Broker’s Goddard’s Vengeance or rocket launcher is his bread and butter. It is so easy to use because you can jump over walls and obstacles just to shoot the rocket accurately and soften all the enemies. It is like a very reliable explosive grenade that will often hit targets. Offensively, it is amazing for clearing out gadgets while also hitting potential targets.
His Smokestack Lightning skill is a long linear smoke that shuts off multiple angles at once when used correctly. It can be used to cut sites in half and can be used defensively and offensively. Cherry Bomb boosts Broker’s ability to defend sites as it is extremely annoying to deal with clusters of bombs. Players are forced to throw utilities or shoot them, exposing themselves when they are about to attack.
Zephyr

- Midnight Rambler – Enter cloaking mode, becoming invisible but only melee weapons will be useable. Stealth deactivates when taking damage or if you start shooting.
- Fade Away – Creates an area where Zephyr can be fully invisible under Midnight Rambler. Invisibility becomes permanent but is disrupted when attacked.
- Get Back – Deploy a dagger beacon. Reactivate the skill to return to the beacon. This skill does not break your invisibility from Midnight Rambler.
Zephyr excels in the same area as Kismet, which is sneakily flanking and getting into position while gathering information. Her Midnight Rambler makes her invisible, but she isn’t invulnerable.
However, when paired with Fade Away where she can take over an area and become permanently invisible, she can even get a few kills by using her melee attacks.
All these skills put her at risk since she isn’t invulnerable. That is where her Get Back ability shines as she can always return to a safer position after gathering info. She doesn’t exactly tag enemies as revealed, like other scouting utility skills, so you’ll need to communicate well and share your information when using her skills.
