There are two melee weapons in FragPunk and players often wonder which one makes you run faster. Here’s the fastest way to run in FragPunk and which melee weapon you should be running.

What’s the Fastest Way to Run in FragPunk?

Holding out any melee weapon will make you run faster. The Standard Blitzer and the Standard Striker stats give you 3.7m/s when running and 4.9m/s when sprinting so it doesn’t matter which melee weapon you use. You are running the fastest possible as long as you have it out.

However, it is also worth mentioning that weapons have different run speeds. For example, a Mad Dog-S submachine gun has a run speed of 3.3m/s and sprint speed of 4.6m/s. The Resolver sniper rifle has a 2.7 m/s run speed and a slower 4.0 m/s run speed. While the differences look minimal, they are significant when trying to reach certain points, especially during the start of the match.

The Melee Stab Trick to Run Faster in FragPunk

Apart from bringing out the Blitzer or the Striker, there’s another way to make you move faster. When you have your melee weapon, you can hold the alternative aim button to charge up the stab attack.

Once you release the stab attack, it lunges you forward. You don’t have to charge the stab attack to full. Use the stab attack to lunge yourself forward and start charging it again.

This way, you can move a little bit faster. This method works because charging the melee attack doesn’t make you slower or stop your sprint. In a way, you’ll expect everyone to use this method to get around unless it wasn’t intended and it gets fixed up in a patch.

If you don’t forget to hold the sprint button, you’ll move faster with every stab. Some of the best Lancers, like Zephyr, can even utilize this strategy when she’s invisible.
